Zelda 64 - Demon’s Quest is a gameplay mod (by Thinedave) that aims to make the game more challenging to the experienced player. Features include: New enemy attacks Trial of Courage: A Savage Labyrinth-esque gauntlet of enemies required to obtain Double Defense. RPG style leveling: Strength, intelligence, endurance, and luck will bolster your stats in combat. Hero Mode: Challenge yourself in this mode where damage is tripled and drained heart containers can no longer be recovered. Ever. Try not to lose them all. Shield Durability: Consider dodging. Shields can be re-bought at a shop. Perfect Block: Don’t want to lose […]

What exactly do these stats do? What scales with Intelligences?
I don't remember, but at the beginning of the game, outside of link's tree house, there are stone tablets that explain it all.

"Why does my heaaaart.../feel so baad..."

Moby in hero mode, :'v.

Looking at all the features, which ones are toggled and which ones are hard coded?

It won't launch for me, both parallel or mupen do nothing, any ideas?
Edit: I had to unzip the rom, now it works with mupen

I may give this game a try even though I don't like soulslike games
It's worth it for action rpg fans. Playing Zelda with RPG stats opens up alot of possibilities. You can do some crazy things, like grind alot of experience and dump all points in strength and one-hit kill bosses. Bit they're also modified to be harder. And i'm sure the jellyfish snipers at Jabu Jabu's will make many quit.

"Perfect Block" since the 'Sekiro' curse is everywhere... ^^"

The whole thing sounds interesting.
Tho I could do without "Shield Durability".
It's the main reason why I won't touch 'Another Crab's Treasure'.
But hey... at least there is the "Perfect Block" for it, and I haven't played a million games with a parry mechanic in the last few days at all, no no no.
Shield durability isn't that bad. It makes the player avoid relying on the shield, and instead use link's dodging moves when Z-targeting.

And the intent is to have it closer to Dark Souls. The changes are worth it for the people looking for a challenge, specially when fighting bosses.
