So, since it looks like there is some people playing it, why not try opening a thread about it?
This is for TCG, OCG, Rush Duel, Master Duel and Duel Links formats.

I play Master Duel format, was once a TCG player (many years ago) but now I'm 100% on Master Duel. It's just cheaper to play and takes less time than a full fledged local.

Favourite decks?
- Blue-Eyes
- Gladiator Beast
- Sky Striker
- Live☆Twin
- Tearlaments
- Mannadium
- Labrynth
- Yubel

Not exactly decks I'd say I "like", but that I still played on MD at some point
- Rikka
- Kashtira
- Fire King Snake-Eyes
- Tenpai

I haven't played Master Duel for a hot minute, and tend to just use EDOPro to play a few rounds with friends every now and then - but I love ygo! (I just wish it was better for drafting)

I almost exclusively play garbage non-meta decks bc they always feel a little less 'paint by numbers' compared to the big dogs.

My faves are Amazement and Frightfur - both are really fun to play! Plus how could you not enjoy stomping on your opponent with theme park attractions, gachapon machines, and demonically possessed plushies???

The most meta I ever really got was running Prank Kids on Master Duel back in maybe 2021? It definitely got me the wins but it wasn't really the most exciting deck to play. VERY cute little guys though!!

Oh boy I'm playing YGO omega Right now it a very nice game
Btw my best decks are
The Rank 10 trains
26096328.jpg

And the Luna light deck. This card is so good
LunalightLeoDancer-MADU-EN-VG-artwork.png

I always play with these decks now but in the early days of Yu Gi Oh I'll play lights worn

I haven't played it since GX started airing (weeh!), but I remember having a ton of fun with it, playing with my friends.

I also distinctly remember how we had a "2000 Rule", which basically meant playing with the hilarious ruleset presented on the TV show -- only 2000 LP, no sacrifices, no nothing. It was great for a cheap laugh.

Unfortunately, my entire deck got lost on a move, and I haven't felt like playing since. I had invested way too much money and energy into it, often even trading at hobby shops.

One cool thing that Konami did in the last years was finally making official Time Wizard Format Tournaments!

Time Wizard being basically Yu-Gi-Oh in various points in time. We have 2005, 2010 and 2015.

I like both 2010 and 2015! 2005 is a bit too slow for my taste

I used to collect more than I played the game (I never really liked meta stuff) but I haven't bought cards in years and I would need a small fortune to catch up now so I just sort of stopped.

I played for fun when I was a kid, then played a bit of Master Duel when it released. I have no idea if they were good or not, but I played an Amazoness (I think?) deck and I tried building an Infernoble deck but I gave up because there was one or two specific cards I could never get ahold of.

Is it worth giving it another shot as a casual player? Out of all the few TCGs I've played I really liked Master Duel the most because it was so fast paced and it did much of the thinking for me 😅

I played a lot of DS and PSP era yugioh games with my friends at school. We didn't had money for the real cards so instead we played the videogames. I attempted to get back to it playing legacy of the duelist, but I disliked how they nerfed a lot of old cards with no option to use their old effects plus the new decks like xyz and pendulum feel really overpowered compared to old stuff, to the point the average pendulum deck would mop the floor with any of my oldschool decks lol

And that ladies and gentlemen is what we call "Power Creep".

I used to really love playing YuGiOh. But the game's broken now. Unless your deck can consistently win your opponent in one or two turns, it's not viable.

I remember ten years ago, people were calling it "power creep the game", but I disagreed, since with some creative thinking, you could still come up with your own viable strategies while ignoring the meta. Even slowing things down to your pace and ignoring all of the new features such as XYZ and Pendulum. Nowadays though, it's an act of futility.

As an example of just how bad things have gotten, cards that were banned from day 1 for being easily exploitable and breaking the game, are now considered so underpowered that you can now have them in your deck without restrictions. Put a couple of cards in your deck (such as Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, Red-Eyes Fusion, and Red-Eyes Insight), and anyone can easily fill their field with overpowered monsters in a turn or two while locking down the field. You won't win by doing that though, because the winning strategies are even more ridiculous than that.

I still have my old deck. But it'll have to stay in retirement. :(
I think I miss all of the old YuGiOh video games more than the functioning card game though. I wish they still made them. But all we have are basically gatcha games now.

Favourite decks to play:
-Pure Destiny HERO
-T.G.
-Vendread
-Phantom Knights
-Evolsaur (yes it's as bad as you think)
A surprise the guy named Destiny Duelist with a profile picture of Star Guardian plays D Hero and T.G. isn't it?
It takes a brave person to pilot Vendread, I played the deck 4fun from time to time and the fact that the Ritual Fodder has to be on the field in order to pass its effects really sets it back from other Ritual strategies.
It has such cool artwork and story though

PS: I also suggest this video from Rata about the Archetype, it's entertaining

I love Rata he's one funny eastern European man
As for the archetype itself, it is difficult for sure but thanks to cards like Ravenous Vendread and Vendread Charge we're able to put out really good monsters straight from the deck onto the field and go for Slayer
If you want I can tell you my deck list, I think it's the most efficient way to put out a backrow and special summon banish, but knowing how and when to utilise the GY with your Vendreads is key to winning with them

Yugioh's the only card game that I still actively play (well, only once or twice a month with a single friend) in person & mostly just for fun! No online stuff, because when it comes to card games, if the cards aren't tangible, I won't play it. I focus exclusively on Ghostricks & Darklord decks, but mostly Ghostricks.

Playing Ghostricks is like playing some fighting game character, where they give you a bunch of different but similar options, & it's up to you to figure out the best combos. I'm still finding new synergy & combos to this day with them, & it's always great. The artwork is just a bonus (y)

Were the decks always come pre-built like this? The newest game i played was one of the GBA games and you need to arrange the deck by yourself.

Well, I re-installet Master Duel for the first time in years after my last post in this thread and tried a duel with my Amazoness deck. I'm pretty sure I did something right because I managed to resurrect my guys non-stop with that Village card for so long that my opponent just surrendered.

Good times, now I'm excited to play more.

I played Master Duel only once.
Let's just say that I sticked to playing 2011 Over the Nexus.

What would the decks of the original show's cast look like with modern day cards?

(Ignoring real world meta of course)
