MS-DOS was my first OS, although I only remember it vaguely. Windows 3.1 was also early on in my life, but it was built on top of DOS, I believe. The first OS that I truly used to a full extent for ages was Windows 95. God, do I miss it. Nowadays Windows is a dumpster fire to the point where I've ended up on Linux. Unfortunately, nothing really matches the magic of those early operating systems that were so unique and novel.

MS-DOS when I was a kid.
The first computer I owned (my dad's old work comp) was an Apple Macintosh though.

DOS or Windows 95 if I had to guess. In terms of what I actually remember beyond blurry memories it'd be Windows 2000.

Coolest blue screen ever.

The 1st contact i had with a OS/computer was in 1991 on sixth grade and it was DOS. Our teacher showed us a few computers they got and i did some DOS command(s)? at the time. I HAD NO IDEA of what i was doing. Now i do.

Windows 3.x, granted I only remembered playing Tuneland due to it having Howie Mandle doing the voice of the bear. Anything else on Windows 3.x I can't remember...

The Coleco Gemini, the games were Donkey Kong and Mouse Trap.

as a 2000's kid born in 1999, I grew up with windows XP, my first computer from 2006 came with it, and pretty much everyone was using it at the time.

MS-DOS. In the early 90's it was a prerequisite to learn the basic commands if you wanted to run a game. Windows 3.1 couldn't run anything!

Tbh, I have 3 OS that I switch between depending on what I want to do. Windows XP and 7 on one computer and 11 on another. As time goes forward, certain things change so I need them with what I do. XP is for older gaming and Word 2002. 7 for when I need older gaming to be 64-bit and more memory (and PhysX since Nvidia did something to PhysX for 11 that makes lag) and 11 in case I need a modern system for whatever reason such as modern gaming (which is very little).

Which is arguably the best OS to have existed. No shame!
Agreed. If there ever came a day where someone made XP 64bit as compatible as 11 with modern needs, I'd be all for it. But so far it's just re-skins. With 11, I bought the program StartAllBack so I could at least have better personal preference with visual style. It goes as far back as Windows 7. I dislike the original Windows 11 look.

As best as I can remember, it was whatever OS the IBM computers had at school, probably MS-DOS with Windows 3.1 if I were to guess, possibly 3.0. I truly can't remember. I just vaguely remember the library having computers old even then at that time mind you, but I distinctly remember being allowed to play SkiFree on them after, of course, doing the simple spelling and mathematics work. You know, simple 3 and 4 letter words like cat, dog, bird, etc., and 2+2, 3-5, and the sort. It was, I want to say, first grade, maybe second.

Again, it's been so long ago I don't remember now.

MS-DOS is the first real one but I'm pretty sure I would have used my dad's Atari 800xl first. Technically it does have an OS and will boot up to a BASIC command prompt without a cartridge.
