Your dream crossover

I'd love to see more Nintendo crossover games that isn't Super Smash Bros.
Pokémblem already exists, but hopefully we'll get another "Nintendo imitates fan games" cases again. Same goes for Zelda/Metroid Randomizer.

A few other ideas:
  • Zelda & Mysterious Murasame Castle: They play so similar that they would work well together. Maybe have Link shipwreck in that world and have to survive it, which could help get a return of the series going.
  • Metroid & Kirby: Imagine Samus has to contend with a strange alien planet that is a little too comfy for her. Alternatively, Kirby has to fight off the space pirates.
  • Zelda & Peach: Princesses have had enough of this BS. They are taking down their enemies themselves.
  • Fire Emblem & Pikmin: RTS with Fire Emblem characters shrunk down and forced to survive until they can cross the castle yard to get a wizard or something to unshrink them.
  • Xenoblade & Kirby: We learned from Smash Bros that Kirby can use the Monado without being killed by Zanza. He's capable of saving the Bionis.
  • Star Fox & Duck Hunt: We're pulling out the big guns for those ducks.

I created it as a shitpost, but after actively playing the game with him in the MC's paper, i actually crave a Geronimo Stilton/Megaten crossover, obviously something light like Demikids, poor sod already got his family as a torturing demon that makes him go into dangerous adventures

Pokémon Conquest should've opened the Pokémon franchise to the TRPG genre in the same way Mystery Dungeon did with the Dungeon Crawler...

As for Kirby I long for a "true" Metroidvania, not like Amazing Mirror.

There could be an all-girls game but I don't know how it would be done.

I'm surprised they never tried a RTS FE game. Battalion Wars was a spinoff to Advance/Nintendo Wars which changed the genre.

Speaking of which: Fire Emblem Versus Sakura Wars/Valkyria Chronicles would be a given.

I always figured the Persona pitch went something like "It's Jojo but less gay."
I'm asking what makes it "gay" to begin with.

The bodybuilder shape of the protagonist? This feels different from making the usual shonen protag either juvenile or androgynous (I understand that japan loves bishonens but I miss old school adult and masculine protags from the 70-early to mid 90's before young adult and teen characters took over the genre).

It seems like you're taking my comment as a criticism of the series, which it's not meant to be.

It's not just their body type. How much of Araki's work, both within and without the manga, have you seen? He draws his characters in revealing styles of dress (midruff shirts, cleavage windows, skin-tight clothing in general), draped over each other or their stands, striking flamboyant poses, and in his most recent style, with androgynous features—it doesn't help that the women he draws often look very similar to the men.

I love the series and its focus on hyper-masculine guys is fine but I'm not going to pretend it doesn't contain homoerotic subtext. Which reminds me that one of the main villians, Dio, canonically got very close to one of his disciples, Pucci. Enough that the two are shown sharing a bed. And Pucci outright states that he loves Dio the way he loves God.

Ech, when men are drawn to be effeminate they say they're gay and when they're muscular they also say it's crypto-gay/homoerotic...

And straight men that take care of themselves invented the concept of "metrosexuality" because apparently only women should do that?

I'm less fan of his more recent style though.

Suzie Q nor Lisa Lisa look masculine to me sorry.

Now Dio being possibly bisexual fits more the whole "sexual liberation" theme that Dracula has but this is just one interpretation of the novel.

Now I genuinely miss men looking masculine in shonens where kids and teens (and young adults) overtook the genre but it's another subject.

I should have been clearer; I wasn't implying the women looked masculine. Rather, the opposite.

His newer style has a serious case of same face syndrome.

Confirmed actually, by Araki. Note that he states their relationship isn't a sexual or romantic one and I abide by that as canon. The series may have the vibes but that doesn't mean everyone, or even most of the cast, is gay.

Being muscular and healthy in and of itself isn't what suggests homoeroticism. Araki's early style was inspired by media such as Fist of the North Star, which is pretty far off from his later style which is more inspired by designer fashion models. Both sources involve healthy, muscular men but only one comes with the gay association.

I always thought it was a no brainer that Castlevania x Shin Megami Tensei would be insane.
You could have castlevania monster's as demon summons and integrate a quest where you gather dracula's items to have a boss fight and unlock him as a special summon, maybe even a guest party member like richter or alucard could join.
It seem's konami is content to license castlevania crossover's only to games people forget about the day after they release though ::mad (vampire survivors being an exception of course).

Earth Defense Force cross over with Dragon's Dogma and Tenchu Z.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot:
A crossover fighting game in the slapstick style of Sonic the Fighters with characters and arenas featuring locations from both franchises would be a nice idea to behold. A kart racing game in the style of CTR/CNK would also work pretty well.

Mortal Kombat and Twisted Metal:
Those two franchises always felt reminiscent of one another for some reason. I like to think that the characters from TM would mesh surprisingly well with the MK ones in a fighting game.

actually there's some fun history regarding that connection. the devs originally thought of twisted metal as a fighting game with cars rather than as a vehicular combat game or a racing game but with combat instead of races. in fact, they invited fighting game players to test the game before release, though those players thought it was abysmal dogshit, leading to the game's success being a massive shock to the studio who were expecting the mostly forgotten warhawk to be their big hit instead. i recall that mortal kombat was mentioned a few times during this part of the video i got this info from.
