Ymir

Bizhawk also uses the mednafen core for saturn and it runs great. Have you tried it?

Yes, it does run, but to tell the truth I kinda forgot Bizhawk exists lol

But you know, I'm so much more interested in Ymir... the emulator is progressing neatly, someday it will have internal resolution multiplier, and the dev is a cool person... I'm having a blast following Ymir's development.

i will try ymir when i go to play sakura wars 2.

nearly finishing the first one, will continue to use bizhawk in this one, it worked well up to here.

before starting the game, need to see how ymir works with multi disc and how to use it.
On Ymir's github, there's issues filed for Sakura Taisen 1 and 2.
If you like you can search them there and see if they've been fixed or if you find new ones
report them so they can be investigated and fixed.

i take a really long time to finish a game, so when i finish sakura 1 and go to test ymir, it will be a lot of versions newer.
if the same savefiles work both there and in bizhawk, them i just have to alternate if i found a bug at ymir. but well, the future will tell us. sorry the bad english

All that you said is true, so no problem, I think the same.
To enjoy the game properly is better to play it on an emulator more mature and stable.
Also my native language is not english so don't worry, we learn by using it.

How good is it compared to Beetle Saturn? ::thinking
About Ymir?
It's promising and a work-in-progress, some games could play without noticeably issues to the end apparently. Some don't boot yet or have issues.

Like I said it's so new, but really easy to use and is standalone. Just try it and see.

There's the need to report issues and do testing so the dev (that makes fast and good effort) could investigate and fix them.
He's doing the majority of the work himself and has some more help now, but if someone wants to contribute implementing a feature or helping another way, he's open to listen.

Ymir's dev is cooking something REALLY neat...

The beetle emulator has been dead for quite a time so thank God somebody is doing this.

Now, if somebody could do something about the Turbografx...
There's also a new one by drhelius:

Did you try Ares with your 3400g?
Because the performance is terrible specially after the v142 release. Sega CD and Snes took a nosedive, and before that GBA couldn't mantain fullspeed too.

Someone who goes by DrHelius made a standalone PC-engine/TurboGrafx-16 emulator called Geargrafx. Here's a link:

Helius is also working on PC-engine-CD/TG-CD support that should be out in the upcoming days.

Update v1.5.3

I was thinking this thread is perhaps a bit bloated, so for better visibility we could make a new one with each new version released?

Using the news tag and writing for title "Ymir 0.1.6 Sega Saturn Emulator" or something like that so people learn about this new emulator.

Just a suggestion.
