Also my big hot take is that all of the Japanese intros suck, except for the first 3. Yakuza 1, Yakuza 2, and Kenzan.

I don't like Yakuza games at all. Already yakuza stuff is "ugh", it's not something I would enjoy. I dislike anything about these Yakuza games. Anything. They say "but it has a sense of humour", but it seems that humour is 0000.1% aspect of the game. Played all of them enough to try to see humour in them, but couldn't endure much at all. Only value Yakuza games have for me is how memeworthy some aspects of it. Don't get me wrong, I dislike mafia/gangster stuff too. I would even dislike GTA SA if the game was only about Grove Street. I was about to delete that game too but I stucked because of its RPG elements and soon after things changed a lot into "a pawn used as a special agent" lolol.

However Yakuza Like a Dragon is a playable game just because it's not about Yakuza, you play as a crazy dude who believe his real life is a Dragon Quest game lolol.

Honestly I think they should remake Dead Souls. RGG made a decent 3rd person FPS after with Binary Domain. I'm sure that the zombies and other creatures would look fantastic in the Dragon engine.

imho Capcom should remake that instead of remaking Re5 :)

Yeah I don’t like bubble at all. Plus it’s hard to watch the JP intros after getting used to the overseas. First 3 are awesome.

imho Capcom should remake that instead of remaking Re5 :)

I hope they do remake RE5. But they'll definitely have to redesign the Majini, I'm thinking the best thing would probably make them very bug-like. Think the main character of District 9

Yeah actually searching stuff on the repo can be hard so it definitely doesn’t hurt to ask. Actually me and my friend @RageBurner were trying to find the page for Metroid 2: return of samus since I wanted to update the entry to include the requested arabic patch and search function was working incorrectly LOOOL (we eventually found it so no worries there)

Yep, the search is pretty strict, so it pays to change things up if something can't be found at first (using Roman numerals for game titles instead of the usual ones, for example).

Hong Kong or Indonesian DVDs of the Kurohyou drama with English subtitles came out back in the day. You could buy it on amazon at the time. It's low budget but it's alright.
The game are both subbed. I really need to play them one day. I've still only played the two PS2 games.

From the perspective of a relatively newer fan, I have to say on my first playthrough I loved 0. Its undeniably one of the greatest games I've ever played. With that being said... I kind of like Kurohyou more. A lot more. At the time I thought it was recency bias, but now that time passed since I played both I kind of feel like Kurohyou left a much greater impact for me, especially the second one. 0 is still great though, technically the better game I guess, but its just how I feel personally.

Ah yeah the real Yakuza are definitely equally interesting. “Yakuza” movies tell interesting tales.
I think it’s interesting hearing about how some ex-Yakuza live their lives with missing fingers.

I recommend those and any other Fukasaku yakuza movie. I like Yakuza Graveyard even better than Battles for example.
I like the Yakuza series but the plots get crazy and I wish there was a more serious one with that Fukasaku documentary feel at some point.

Haven't played for a while, I'm on RGG4 and my file's at the start of Saejima's part. I finish 5 games in the series so far.

Yea, Kurohyo 1 and 2. They're about a cocky and strong teenager joining the underground fighting circuit. Apparently you can make your own combos and the fighting is kinda like those Def Jam games. I haven't seen much but the cutscenes are in an ultrakino black and white comic style

I'm playing the first one right now. I am soooo in. Tatsyua probably my current favorite Yakuza character of all time.
