Hard to explain, but I'd say it's the worst of the pre-2015 games. The combat "progression" feels slow and I definitely didn't enjoy the chase bits. That being said, it's still good, which is a credit to how great the Yakuza franchise is.

but going backwards with zero and then later the remasters for 1 and 2, I can see where combat is clunky and progression is slow. I always wanna play the games, but have to remember to not play them back to back - or burn out happens.

Of course, everyone's favorite karaoke songs are Baka Mitai and Machine Gun Kiss (which I would personally choose myself) but since everyone already chose those I'll pick my third favorite.
Tonight -restart from tonight- I usually prefer to play the original janky n' eng dubbed ps2 version of Yakuza 1 (mainly due to feeling the feeling of being like Shenmue's older cousin). But I'd be dammed if I said Kiwami 1 didn't do a fantastic job at fleshing out Nishkiyama. After Y0, I'd say this song is the most emotionally impactful out of any of the karaoke songs.
im so glad I didn't bother to grind anymore. Beating the story was immensely satisfying and I'm glad that after days, I beat it. Not 100% completing it tho
fr, I lost my mind trying to grind cash to craft a better gun and I said fuck it and pushed through the rest of the story and aced it. I call it yakuza paranoia disorder, a disorder where you think your weapons in a video game isn't good enough for the final boss
I'm curretly going through it and it's been very fun so far but I'M NOT grinding all that stuff to craft weapons, it's so painfully boring to do and i'm sure i won't need it anyway, besides that it's a pretty fun game, and i honestly see myself switching styles way more in this game than the others because i think they're fun to use

for me, it was either gun. or sword. i mained gun in early game but midgame and late game i rolled with the sword after beating a couple of bosses and earned really good swords. the one i mained had like 900 damage total so it was perfect. i was more paranoid about my armor but it worked
I had issues with it, and I've played almost all of these games to Amon, so I've seen it all through. I haven't played the original but I feel like there's still a lot of dated gameplay stuff that still could've been still improved upon. The story's enjoyable but messy, granted there's only so much you could change with it in a remake, same issue with Kiwami 1 but they tried their best. Also, the game either crashed or the power went out while I was playing, and I had to redo HALF of the Battle Dungeon, and by the way, FUCK the Battle Dungeon. Now, it does have my favorite karaoke selection next to Gaiden (haven't gotten that far in IW yet, so that may change), and there most likely be more stuff I liked if I went through it again. It's still a decent game, but I think if they didn't work on it while also making Gaiden and IW, they probably could've had more time to iron out those issues.

I doubt they're gonna make another cuz they've already done two and a remake, but if they made a completely samurai game now with how much the series has evolved since then, it would be amazing. Granted, that could also jus fit into the Project Century thing they're making.

gun was probably the most op style in the og 2014 game, they tried to nerf it a little bit in the remake and fair enough they did but not by much, it is still very powerful, my personal favorite style is wild dancer, i like using all styles but sometimes normal sword is just too slow for my taste so i switch to wild dancer to get things over a bit quicker, they're all very fun tho

that's fair enough, i've been focusing a lot of my orbs on it, the one i'm probably using the less is brawler, not a huge fan of sticking to fists too much in a game all about swords and guns
Despite having played the last one, imma hold off.
I've been making my way through the series over the past few years with the newer Kiwami versions/PS4 re-releases and I'm still only about 50% of the way through 4. With all the stuff I've been hearing about this one, I'll wait for a deeeeeep discount.
Just beat Yakuza 6. Holy shit the story was great, honestly. combat was wonky but super heat mode was OP af. I'm glad morning glory got it's happy ending, I would of been so fucking pissed if yuta died.
I'm glad you enjoyed Kiryu's final game and I hope you enjoy Kiryu's second final game.
And then his third final game and however the fuck many more games he's still going to have.

I was honestly pretty underwhelmed by the story of Yakuza 6. I like Kiryu as the nurturing father type, and I was interested in the mystery to find Haruto's dad. But I was dissatisfied by how Haruka was put in coma jail the whole time, the mystery around the yakuza cover-up of the Yamato mark II, and how bitch ass Daigo Dojima got a heartfelt letter instead of his own fucking kids!!! Plus no weapons and fewer Heat actions is pretty lame
