Is Perfect Works 1.0 live?
Version 0.5.5 is the latest.

I've been following this project since 2022, so I think 1.0 is still pretty far away but what's already implemented is great, tho personally I'm still waiting for 1.0 for a full second playthrough of this patch.

Same thing, waiting for the full release to replay it!

Incredible news I love Xenogears but the original translation was pretty rough.
Considering the devs couldn't even finish the game how they wanted to, imagine how little time and budget was even given to the localization team, yeah.

Xenogears was translated by one guy (whose name is Richard Honeywood, being his first ever localization/translation job) through sheer luck and will. He was basically told to translate the entire script to english and was told "good luck! Do what you can" with no direction and he just hammered out the translation. It probably wouldn't have been translated at all at the time if he didn't try. Thats the stuff that happened during the 90's that no one really talks about. You will have to overlook some of the odd translation issues understanding this. Imagine translating basically a JP novel alone without any huge mistakes in grammar and formatting, thats basically what he had to do.

huge respect to the fella then, i couldnt do that

Ooohhhhh?

Someone let me know when the full version is complete. I was curious about playing Xenogears at some point, but if there's a perfect version in the works, I think I will wait for then.
I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I played Xenogears back in the day and it's quite the unforgettable experience. Someday I still hope for a remake that will correct the wrongs that it was forced to carry.

I want to play it and xenosaga trilogy at some point. Ive played xenoblade definative edition and it was just ok overall, story and music were great but level design was too empty for its size and gameplay could have been better

I'll be honest with you, I dislike Xenoblade quite a bit. Xeno became just a brand identity and I feel the series lost what it is cool about it after Xenogears, but that's just me.

I only really like Xenogears and the Xenosaga series in my opinion.

I never really cared for the Xenoblade series.

I want to like Xenosaga, but everything is so drawn out and inconsistent that I find hard to.

I love Xenosaga but I understand your criticism that they are very long games and that there are some parts of the story that are very confusing and don't make sense.

I read that there are some pretty big changes between episodes too in regards to the battle system and such. I've only ever gotten to about halfway the first disc before burning out on it so I can't really comment on it, but yeah.

I understand, Regarding the Xenoblade series, I really didn't like the story of Xenoblade 2 and 3, especially the third game, which I found to be very similar to Xenogears, but much less interesting and lacking in worldbuilding compared to Xenogears.

What I like about Xenoblade the least is the change in focus. The style of battle and such, it looks and feels almost like it pulled a page off the FF12 handbook. That's not inherently bad, but it's not the kind of experience I want to have. Then again, I just played the first briefly, so I don't have a whole lot of ground to seat my opinion on.

I understand your point of view.

To tell you the truth, technically, I've never played the Xenoblade series, I've only seen the walkthroughs of the three games and the DLCs in their entirety.

I don't have a Nintendo Switch because I'm middle class and I also live in Brazil where the Switch is expensive.

On the other hand, I've already played and finished Xenogears and the Xenosaga series.

The Xenoblade series lore is very sloppy in my opinion.

At least they kind of did their own thing with the lore rather than try to force a continuum dating back all the way from Xenogears.
