Considering the devs couldn't even finish the game how they wanted to, imagine how little time and budget was even given to the localization team, yeah.

Xenogears: Perfect Works is a collaborative project aiming to make Xenogears a more complete experience

I wonder how 'complete' they can make it. Yeah i heard 1/2 to 3/4 they ran out of time/money and just had placeholder images instead of animations and sections.

It will never match the original vision, surely, as I imagine disc 2 was supposed to have a world map, cities and events of its own. it's more of a consolation prize.

Agreed, assuming they make it look as good as DQ3. All prior 2DHD efforts don't cut the mustard.

There is version 0.6.0 has been released recently.

I think we may collectively ask our kind admins @Spike , @RageBurner to upload the ISOs if this hack attracts interest.

I'm going to bring it here soon. It's just important to understand that 1.0 is still very far away.

The patcher is insanely extensive, and I would all the objective improvements checked, but I need some clarification about the Arena and Modes options, as I don't want to have to upload a ton of versions with minor toggles.

Edit: Nevermind, there are tooltips. I will apply only QoL like fast text, no flash and possibly half encounters + more gold to keep the level curve but making the pacing more brisk.

I think it's fine for a first rodeo. Some people have this perception that you must play the original before playing QoL hacks, but I disagree.

Essentially. There are script changes but they are not entirely complete as of yet.

I agree, but personally for this one I'm going to play the original just because I want the "authentic experience", including the difficulty as the devs originally put in

I just hope any undubbing they do is optional.
I always prefer English voices especially if thats what I first played with (I know, sometimes they were bad)

It bears mentioning that I did not modify the difficulty, as that side of things has a long way to go yet.

• The patcher now checks to determine if OneDrive is not the directory used.
• Citan's Ougi/Myogetsu can now inflict Resist Up.
• The accuracy of deathblow effects has been increased for each character. Details are in the wiki.
• Icons have been added for the deathblows to indicate their effects.
• The text for the scene when Elly crash lands into Lahan has been slowed down with fast text.
• The hob items have been corrected so the amount they heal matches their descriptions. Details are in the wiki.
• Improved Vierge's starting frame. Details are in the wiki.
• Patcher has been updated to catch errors with xenoiso.
