Anyone had any experience with the original x box emulator? I plan to set it up on my mini PC
and see how it handles. Already got a tutorial video on youtube for set up. Would be interesting
as i never had the original x box.

It's a right pain in the ass to get it to run properly, and even when it does, it has a small list of playable games. Even a fairly high powered system will chug with most of the library.

and you WILL need these files to get it to even boot properly
The xbox_hdd.qcow2 file is about 1.2gb itself

Runs great on my computer, but because many games I want to play are better emulated via gamecube/ps2 I often end up playing those ports instead. And an even better reason is because those emulators have better features, graphical options, patches, and tweaks to optimize your experience.

I played a little Jet Set Radio: Future with XEMU on an IdeaPad 5 with an intel chip set, and it seemed to work pretty well. There were some considerable frame drops when boosting or if there were a ton of particle effects happening all at once- but overall it seemed to work pretty well!

I have it on my gaming build and i noticed a lot of games were choppy doubt ill proceed with setting it up if its gonna be a headache with games. thanks for the input.

Honestly, you would be better off buying an original Xbox and softmodding it.
They aren’t pricey, and with a few simple things, you can have any Xbox game on it running perfectly, no problem.

Yeah i wouldnt mind an OG X box to test it out for sure. I know id enjoy some of the titles like crazy taxi 3 the WWF games and NFS underground was released on it too.

Ya, and if you get one with a optical drive that wont read but it still works aside not reading, can get them super cheap.

Know you aren't in the States @DjQuick2008, just using an Example is all

Well that's odd i guess you have the updated version?

It's a hard drive image so I assume it gets bigger the more games you play. Y'know, savefiles, system data and the like. Chances are some games install things there to mitigate loading times or something along those lines.

Most likely, i dunno it was that size when i got it.

These are my specs and I've had a lot of success playing what games I've wanted to play. Xemu is incredible in that for the longest time they said original Xbox emulation was impossible, but now emulation just kind of popped up and soon made pretty smooth. Some games I've tried like Urbz and Breakdown were really laggy and Pac-Man World 2 had graphical glitches, but it's a great emulator when it works. It gets updated pretty regularly and you can tell the performance gets a boost every now and again, so I'm excited to see it improve.

I don't really remember how I set it up, but from what I do remember it was pretty straightforward, just finding the two system images it needs and it's good to go. Even using a controller or multiple is as simple as plug-and-play.

Speaking of the HDD .qcow2 file, I noticed that mine is at 4.4gb.

What else is cool is that, I don't know how it is setting it up on a real Xbox, but with Xemu it's also pretty straightforward to set up Insignia, which is emulated Xbox Live.

This is my small collection of xbox games I got running on xemu. None of them has given me any kind of issues. So I think xemu has been a good experience, and will continue to improve in the future.

I've played ninja gaiden sigma, but if black has content that isn't in sigma, then i think i'll give it a shot.

Now I've never heard of otogi. But from a quick Google search it looks really interesting. Will definitely add it to the collection. Thanks for mentioning it ::thank-you

You're welcome :). Ninja Gaiden Black is the definite edition, Sigma came after Black, but Black is way better.

Otogi is pretty nice, it's your typical From Software Game (creator's of the Souls games, Armoured Core and the like)

I played Buffy on it, it ran pretty well on my not-new PC until it crashed on the second area. Haven't jumped back in yet, but I keep meaning to.
