Krile from Final Fantast 5. I looked it up and in Japanese it was Kururu, like the fairy puppet sidekick in Rhapsody. I can see how it got mangled. But it does not look right. Why not go with Kira or Kiri, Kalli or something like that instead? I don't even know how I'm supposed to pronounce it. Poor kid.

Always thought Shulk was a pretty wacky name for a JRPG protagonist, but I don't know that anything will ever beat one of my favorite Atelier Rorona characters, Esty Dee.

Was it a tongue-in-cheek joke or Japanese devs being oblivious to English, who can say? But for a character named STD she (fittingly?) sure packs a punch.

Esty Dee is entirely the fault of the localizers making her name sound like S.T.D.
Her Japanese name is Esty Erhard... which itself is goofy.

I assume they were going for "Earhart" as in, "Amelia Earhart", but the Japanese person didn't properly understand English letters.
I say that because the kana uses ト (toe) instead of ド (doe).
