Worst retro games you've played?

Kid me rented all the shitty NES games so that adult me would know what to steer clear of.

Actually I do still have several ROMs of "bad" games out of sheer nostalgia. Things like Godzilla for NES, for example. Such a bad game but it really brings me back.

Final Fantasy 7. The "classic" PSX game blows. I'm tired of people telling me im
just trolling or trying to be edgy, or that RPGs would of never have come to the US without it.I feel like people say they like that piece of garbage just because they feel like they have to. The story is bunk and cloud has Popeye arms. I am really, really enjoying Remake Intergrade however

If this is the worst things have gotten for you then you've had a truly blessed experience. There are some truly "BUTT ASS" games out there

Honestly, Bill and Ted on NES. One of the worst "games" I have ever had the displeasure to play. The first X-Men on NES is a close second.

now i recall a game that made me fear video game over's and seeing there angel's when they die. town and country 2 thrilla's SURFari. it has the most grumeson death's ever.

Probably any number of the random shit I downloaded for the c64.

Back in the UK in the 80s pretty much anyone could get a game published and we had our fair share of utter shit.

I guess Wimpy on C64 is my choice. It's just burger time but even clunkier and shittier ::badpc

which version SNES/Genesis GameBoy NES?
NES.

As a die-hard R&B fan, the fact that the only game the series has ended up being a complete turd upsets me to no end
Oh I  love the show. Rocky used to be my favorite, but now that I'm older I'm all about Boris and Natasha.

Ys strategy on the NDS is one that comes to mind.
Macross on NES is another one
Unlimited SaGa did not like it what so ever
Ephermal Fantasia is bad but I still kind of enjoy it for some reason
Chaos wars the horrible voice acting made it PAIN to play

Man seeing people comments here makes know i hardly played a garbage game , my least liked game has to be Final Fantasy 3 for the famicom or the NES it's such a pieces of crap and is clunky but honestly? It's playable yeah it's a slog to go through a slog that can softlock you many times mind you but even then I'm sure and 100% certain that game is fares better than most games mentioned here at least square would publish a quality product even if "quality" meant something else back then.

I've not played a lot of bad games in general (except Bioshock Infinite but thats irrelevant), certainly not older ones, but if I was to pick one out then it'd have to be Castlevania: The Adventure.View attachment 128499
I can forgive a game being clunky or any of that stuff and I think a lot of modern gamers are a bit spoiled in how little roughness they're able to put up with, but I really think this game sucks.
It's exceptionally dull, it's ugly and none of the areas look any good. Of course it's a Gameboy game, so there is a lot of restrictions on what they could do, but the old pokemon games are fun and they were on that same handheld.
Not only that, the game just doesn't really feel good to play either, going from Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, a very overhated game in my opinion to this was such a drop in playability and fun that if it wasn't like 2 hours long I would've dropped it.
Thankfully the sequel, Belmont's Revenge is actually genuinely really good and fun.

I played CV Adventure mainly for the unforgettable bgm and Dracula boss music but it was very hard on last stage. Would not be able to finish it nowadays

Double Dragon III, 8 Eyes, Urban Champion and Solomons key are three retro games that I think are trash, oh and I forgot Shaqfu on snes and sega genesis it was terrible.

Action 52 for the NES and Genesis despite being a unlicensed game between both versions of the game is a compilation of 52 shovelware games on a single cartridge.

But The Cheetahmen was a good one right?
Well, it's a little less bad than the rest of the games on the list, but still the game is just as broken as the others especially the infinite jump that breaks the game at the following levels although the background music isn't too bad, although the Genesis version is different but in a bad way and it's quite difficult with respect to the NES version.

As punishment you must now listen to the full 10 mins

Skate Or Die 2: The Search For Double Trouble
AMAZING theme song, shame the game itself controls like absolute ass
