PS5 Wolverine - 9/15/2026

Why ? No game should cost more than 60 bucks
Wrong, it's now...uh...*checks notes*....no more than 48 dollars.
threthrthrt.jpg

It's his money, he can do whatever he wants. If you want it day one, nobody is going to stop you.
I'm just saying, since it's not set to release until fall, right now it costs a whopping nothing dollars and nothing cents. So it's more about the time then the money, since @Elwiwi is just adding an extra 6-7 months to wait for it to go down in price (which would take at least an extra year of sales before that happens).

I mean, I could be wrong, Christmas is 3 month later, they could drop it just for the Holiday season....

I don't care waiting, it not a game that I'm super excited ( re9 on the other hand...)

( re9 on the other hand...)
RE9 is funny, because the bothered to remember a character from RE: Outbreak and all the Japanese ladies are so squishy for Leon they refuse to let him be old.

(I know next to nothing about Resi lore, so take this as a largely uninformed joke) Maybe Leon got infected with a virus that gives him an eternally youthful appearance?

Okay, I understand. But, I have to ask, were you legitimately concerned that Leon may actually been infected with a virus that makes him young forever and that's why you prefaced you comment by saying you know nothing?
That's Jill now unfortunately. Leon has still aged more than Jill and looks close to hist actual age of 48.
I thought her aging was delayed due to being kept in cryo by Wesker in the events revolving around RE5?
DI_-_Leon_and_Jill_webp.png

I mean, the last time we saw everyone chronologically was the Alcatraz movie, and I guess she looks younger. But there's no canonical explanation for that, it's just that she's modelled after the same actress that she was in RE3Make.

I thought her aging was delayed due to being kept in cryo by Wesker in the events revolving around RE5?
Nope. The retcon is the T-Virus infection from Nemesis, and then cured, reduced her aging. Not the cryo. It's dumb either way, and I ignore it, or only pay attention to fan art that ages Jill post RE5.

f7f

or provide links, I didn't know the "aged up" tag was something to be applied to already adult characters

Not really a fetish, when I am not getting horny over it, or expect actual regular realism to apply. Also, Jill can rock that shit at an older age.

You keep telling me about all these "older" Jill pics, and yet you have provided me with nothing but unsated curiosity.

It was mostly a joke on my part, but with limited knowledge of what viruses exist and what they can do in the games. For all I knew, there was some virus that magically de-ages people. It just sounds like the kind of sci-fi wizardry I'd expect from an over-the-top sci-fi horror franchise

I mean, if you can transform into a sky scraper sized velociaptor/motor cycle Beelzebub, I suppose anything is possible.
And I know @BrawlMan mentioned that Jill's experimentation under Wesker slowed her aging, but it didn't reverse it. Leon had his design changed (from looking like and angry grandpa) because the ladies working at the Capcom offices didn't like it. Like, they refused to accept Leon being old and crusty.

Let's keep this on topic and in the Resident Evil thread. Though if you must know, there was some fan made CG movie where they aged Jill and taking place after RE5. She wasn't "old", but was clear she hit 40. That is all you get, because this Wolverine here. Once again, go to the RE thread and go nuts.

Insomniac Games was done letting us wait, as it announced in a short and to-the-point post on its official social channels that Marvel's Wolverine will release on PS5 this coming September 15, 2026.

"Let's cut to the chase" writes Insomniac, before announcing the release date. While it's great to no longer be in the dark on the release date for what is arguably the most anticipated game coming to PS5 for PlayStation players this year, it is a little curious as to why we didn't get this news two weeks ago, when Sony held its first State of Play event of the year.

You can try and play armchair executive and figure that Sony didn't want Marvel's Wolverine to overshadow the God of War news, but considering how early in development those remakes appear to be and the lacklustre response to the new Sons of Sparta game, it feels like adding this to the docket of announcements for the event wouldn't have made a big difference with how everything landed.

Regardless, at least we know when we can expect Marvel's Wolverine to arrive, and that it will (for now) be hitting its previously indicated release window of Fall 2026. We haven't seen any new gameplay or heard any new official details about the game since that release window was revealed, so hopefully, this release date news is the indication that we're going to start seeing and hearing a lot more about this game.

Just ahead of the State of Play, Insomniac did indicate that we'll hear more about Marvel's Wolverine in Spring 2026. It's clearly not Spring yet, so this is could also just be a bit of news to tide curious players over until after Saros is out, and to potentially appease players who might be concerned about the game actually arriving this year if we got to the end of April 2026 without at least a release date.

There's also the other angle to this, which is that this is a bit of good news for players to focus on as an attempt at distracting us from the fact that Sony closed Bluepoint Games just days ago, for reasons that, realistically, boil down to the company's top brass, i.e. the now-retired Jim Ryan and the current leadership under Herman Hulst, grossly mismanaging the studio and its talent.

Fine, uh, "Oh boy! I sure do hope that there Wolverine game has some sick character action comobs, boy howdy!"

Also, a deer petting mini game.

Cool, you're a fan of Combo Spartan too. Hoping they get some new combo videos soon, because they have not posted in ages.

That would be nice.

Extra fitting, since he also uploaded this video as hype for the new Wolverine game.
That would be nice.
That would be nice, wouldn't it.

Bro is preemptively waiting for a price drop, on a game that hasn't even come out yet. Jesus, man, just give it a chance to release first.
No.

I'll wait for it to hit $20 on PC with mods to fix the female faces/models and remove the inevitable aspects I'll find gross, like Spider-Man 2 received as various improvement mods.

Insomniac female characters are fine or good, and I don't put unrealistic expectations into digital women nor women in real life to please my ego. That is stupid, and that is not what the thread is about. Please take it somewhere else away from here. Also there's no PC release in sight yet. With the way it's been acting, they're actually reducing their PC ports now.

From what I'm reading lately with Sony, we may not see this on PC, they seem to be backing away from PC releases to rebuild a true exclusives catalog for the hardware which, given the fact the AI induced major hardware issues are set to extend this console generation, actually seems like a good idea on their end.

New SOP Trailer
The graphics and violence is fine, but Wolverine heals far too fast, his face looks like he has a sinus infection when viewed from angles, and the female face modelers still need to take a trip to Asia to figure-out how they get it right. That or fire some useless hires.

Also what is with the Nick Fury gender swap?!

Nearly all of that is a huge case of YMMV and a you problem. I didn't see any gender swap, unless you're referring to Jean Grey's jacket. She looks good, and I don't want to hear any nonsense about the "female faces looking intentionally bad/ugly" or his Logan's face either. They all look either good or fine. Also, Wolverine could heal real fast in the 360/PS3 game. I am sure they can iron that out by the time of release, or just go for the harder difficulties. I really have no complainants at the moment. Might change when I actually have the game, but I am not throwing myself into a pointless and silly panic over nothing.

Who's panicking? Yeah, I get it, you have to defend this game as though you're being paid to do so. Good on you, totally a you problem. The healing? It would take Wolverine 10+ seconds in the PS360 game to heal from wounds that revealed his skeleton - in this game that time appears to be cut by half. As for not knowing who the Nick Fury genderflip is, here's a pic from the trailer:

Again, whatever issues I have or find, won't be concrete until I get the actual game in my hands. I am not expecting from Sony and Insmoniac. We have not had a solo Wolverine game, and I am not going to let some minor and ignoreable stuff bother me much nor make me a "sad lad". Life is too short for that shit.

Not much of a big deal, and the devs can easily balance that by having enemies or elite enemies doing harder damage. Not the end of the world.

As for not knowing who the Nick Fury genderflip is, here's a pic from the trailer:
I am going to be slicing up dudes and dudettes with fucking Wolverine. I really don't care.
