PlayStation's servers seem to be down again. For how long?! Who knows?

In PlayStation's inevitable pursuit of player trends, and bigger revenue, this is a critical issue capable of ending Its high tech future.

Digital licenses for entertainment can't be checked, online games can't be played, or can with severe limitations, and cloud gaming is out of the question, so is the PS Portal, as well. The PlayStation console loses many, or all, of its uses.

But this promises to be even worse if PlayStation, to sidestep balooning hardware prices, forces PS6 games to be played with help from cloud services.

The Sony patent, titled "Asset Streaming System and Method," balances both approaches, leading to smaller PS5 and PS6 game installations. Executables would run on a console,

And what makes it even worse is the fact that PlayStation's communication to customers is so shit. They seem unable to give actually useful responses to users' issues, barely even acknowledging problems on their end at best.

Again this further illustrates lack of control, remember your paying them monthly/yearly to play online.

(edit: I don't care if this is down only for a few hours, paying them ontop of broadband charges & the recent announcement of throwing away physical, It's all about the overall principle)

I thought the video game industry would crash because good AAA games were starting to die out, not because every single console manufacturer would start yelling "STOP THROWING MONEY AT US" out of absolutely nowhere.

With hard delistings of games and movies and no refunds, both Xbox and Playstation online services going down, and the announcement of Sony getting out of physical media, hopefully this'll change minds when it comes to digital and "owning nothing and being happy." We're seeing that "owning nothing" is much worse.

You'll own nothing and be unhappy.

They want all of the money in the universe under their pathetic and flimsy turns.

It's good thing a majority of the games I play are either physical, or are not tied to a server of any kind. PS6 is going to beyond a shit show, and I can't wait to see this fuckers crawl on their knees.

i think i would rather have physical disk drive fail on me than a server because then their system is working against the player but thats what they want anyway so... im not gonna buy much more on PS.

Their only job is keep the servers online and have backups to avoid disrupting the player experience, especially with the new plan to eliminate physical media. Even if the servers get shuts down for an hour it's something unacceptable for a company like Sony.

Unfortunately, nothing will happen because they have zombies fans and kamikaze rats who will sell all their shares if the company's stock price drops for things like this.

Probably SONY flushing all the PSP, Vita, and PS3 content, resetting the servers, while presumably, laughing at the fanbase, drinking large quantities of C₂H₅OH and wearing funny little hats.
It's almost scary how accurate this likely is.

i don't mind digital games, pc has been digital only for a way longer time. and with piracy being easier than ever then i see no reason on complaining much

This is the all digital future we all want, right guys??
