As well as my picks here

Here is my obligatory niche Japanese visual novel entry lmao
Baroque syndrome for the ps1 was a complementary story to the game Baroque, a game where some blonde douchebag sends you down a tower to kill god like most jrpgs, and god I wish I could play it man, there are some translation scripts that are amazing but i just wish you could play the game in full in English, but sadly visual novels have gatta be the hardest things to translate lmfao

The Another Century games

Officially, Growlanser 1, and Namco X Capcom - though Namco X Capcom has a fan translation, and Growlanser 1 has one in the works

I'd love for someone to release ACCURATE translations for the Trails series, and Valkyria Chronicles series, because the official translations are garbage.

An accurate translation for Final Fantasy VIII, because that official translation is garbage. Same with Final Fantasy Tactics, and Unicorn Overlord.

Accurate translations for the later Fire Emblem games, because those official translations are beyond garbage.
Since the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster just got announced, and its confirmed to be the WOTL translation, I am once again asking for an accurate, faithful, non-flowery, non-punched up, non-censored fan translation of the Final Fantasu Tactics games.

Machi PS1/Saturn which is a visual novel with live action photos which 428 Shibuya Scramble is a spiritual successor to.

I’ve wanted to play it for years and I’ve heard that it’s difference of prose between each route (alongside each route being written by a different writer iirc?) will pretty much stop it from ever getting a fan translation patch.

It’s a good reason for me to get back to learning Japanese when I’m given an opportunity though so I can’t complain.

i wanna try that game too

When it comes to Japanese-only releases, I'm pretty casual. I want to be able to play the rest of those popular series without wasting too much time with a dictionary. I want Ryu Ga Gotoku: Kenzan. I want those old Atelier games. I want the rest of Sakura Taisen. I also want games based on popular anime and TV shows, like Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Gundam... That kind of stuff :->

I prefer translations to be as accurate to the original as possible, without censorship or changes.
i super disagree about perfect accurate because like everyone say A literal translation 1:1 is not a good localization so yay i am fine with it if you dont like it then deal with

About that literal vs non-literal discussion thing. I think some of you guys are a bit confused. Literal translation doesn't mean neither lower nor higher quality.
There is always a degree of creative freedom and the final result will vary depending on the context, intention and preference of the translator. But as a rule of thumb the translated text should follow the original piece as faithfully as possible. With that said this will lead to an attempt to copy the same words and/or style or the adoption of a completely new way to express the same idea.
As an example: "raining cats and dogs", ideally should NOT be translated to "lloviendo gatos y perros" (the literal translation) but to "lloviendo a cántaros" [raining pots].
The quality a translation, I would say, is on how faithful the original ideas are copied to the translated text, without omissions, or censorship.
However, you should not confuse quality with fun - with how entertaining it can be. An original piece can be less fun, than an adaptation/free transtation.
Ultimately, the preference will always be in the eye of the beholder.

Ran across ‘Yaku Yuujou Dangi’ well looking through the Repo for something else and oh my bloody goodness just look at it!

What’s most frustrating is that there is multiple different discussions and even someone who said they’ve translated it out there - but no fully finished and implemented version available. There is an AI translated play through on YouTube but I want to play it myself (also not a big fan of AI translation, I’ve tried them before, they just diminish the experience)

Today is a good day

"Now for something completely different...."
I wish (yeah, it's really far out there) wish, this could get a translation.

The menus and stuff. Its alot. Yeah, it's an interactive movie where you play as a Shadloo cyborg scanning the fighters watching the movie. Better you do, you level up your character. Why? At the end you fight Ryu, like Super Turbo with the Cyborg. The more stronger your character is, easier the fight.

If you lose to Ryu, you see the end of the SF II Movie. Win, there's 2 alternate endings which show if Vega (Bison) had won.

Anata o Yurusanai, a vertical vn for PSP. Looks cool, I want to see what the fuss is about.

Also, I'd like to try out some of the Tokyo Majin Gakuen games, I played the Kowloon Highschool Chronicle translation when it came out and it quickly shot up to become one of my favorite games. They're a mix of visual novels with a pretty interesting conversation system where you input "vibes" as an answer to whatever the characters tell you and Tactical RPGs. The one I played was a first person dungeon crawler though. Really cool game.

This actually look very cool

Definitly Metal Max 2 on the Snes .

I like oldschool 16-bit pixel art no matter how primitive it is .

The japanese GBA Duelmasters games .

That we have still no translation of them is really shame . They were many boosters packs ahead when we finally got the Duelmasters US GBA games with their terrible but somehow funny pseudo-anime artstyle .

The whole Kenka Bancho-series on the PSP and PS2 needs translations very badly !

Only played Badass rumble and it was glorious ! The Starter-Dropkick-move wasnt just a weak attack at enemies ... it was an artform of pure cultured violence . A very high deliquent greeting of the painful kind as a taste whats coming after it .
