Will you keep supporting PlayStation?

I will always have fond memories of the first three PS consoles, the PSP, the Vita and my early PS4 days. But they lost me when they went a bit overboard with their censorship demands. And if they plan to go all digital, I no longer see a benefit they could have over PC.

I like the PS5 but I'm only going to be playing physical games on it, so probably going to be done after FFVIIR3, Stellar Blade 2, and GOW Laufey.

Honestly enough, no. They burned that bridge.

I grew up with all the PlayStation consoles and handhelds (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PSP, and Vita) but after seeing what Sony did with the PS5 generation and wasted it on live service garbage (excluding Helldivers 2) alongside their anti-consumer practices and arrogance towards their community, It's safe to say that the PS5 will be my final console.

Whatever happens next for PlayStation and the PS6... I won't be there to find out.

Yeah ive the PS5 on my disc drive and i do watch blu rays and dvd on it when its not scorching weather. Also have a nice shmup collection that dosent require me to play online and can switch between the PS5 and PS4 controller. Has those benefits but it just cant be used in hot weather i do have a 3 wheeled fan on the back of it.

I do the same thing, but only with my PS4, where I watch my DVDs.

I don't even try to play my PS4 Pro with hot weather. It might lift off.

ive had the switch on in docked mode it dosent cause me extreme heatstroke.

• Early COVID-era stock chaos
• Closing Japan Studio, London Studio, Bluepoint, etc
• Languid library (Astro Bot and Yotei are the only worthwhile exclusives, everything else is on PC or is dissappointing)
• Price increases
• PS5 Pro being overpriced and not coming with a disc drive
• DualSense stick drift issuses
• Everything about Concord
• Shitting the bed with PSVR2

But I could tolerate all that. I still like my PS5.
I cannot tolerate the lack of physical media.

My launch DualShock 4 still works just fine despite slamming it once, but I've burned through two DualSenses because of those fucking sticks. I wouldn't even complain much if repair wasn't costly and incredibly difficult. Say what you want about Switch Joy-Con drift, at least Nintendo give you free replacements, no questions asked.

I was already having doubts about whether or not I should get the PS6 since my PS5 has been nothing more than a paper weight for almost 3 years, but the latest news have convinced me that Sony just isn't worth it anymore. Time to go full time PC.

Yeah im pretty much out only reason i really use a PS5 is for my crew 2 account and one day ubisoft will shut it down on the servers offline will be a shell of the game for me.

Sony will stop releasing new games in physical format starting in 2028. It's a decision that's causing a lot of backlash, and I completely understand why so many players are upset.

That said, I think that even if Sony hadn't made this move, Microsoft or even Nintendo would probably have gone in the same direction sooner or later. The entire gaming industry is moving more and more toward digital distribution.

Nintendo has already introduced Game-Key Cards on the Switch 2. It's not the end of physical media yet, but it is another step toward a more digital future. To me, this shows that the whole industry is gradually heading in that direction.
