I'm gonna say goodbye to my "teenagehood" next year, i'm gonna be more productive and get a job, i'm a bit screwed when it comes to studying because i do very few hours, but still try my best, i'm gonna hit the gym, and take swiming classes, all that stuff.

So i planned that for this year, after finishing better call Saul (wich i'm gonna start watching when i finish fma 2003 and watch conqueror of shamballa) and finishing lego star the complete saga (because of the 20th anniversary of the first lego star wars) that i start watching Disney's main filmography from snow white and the 7 dwarfs through 2021's encanto.

I'm gonna do this because despite the huge amount of films they have produced (mainline, other studios, live action originals, remakes, etc) i'm gonna focus on the main filmography because there are many classics that i haven't ever watched or watched over a decade ago (snow white, 101 dalmatians, Robin hood, the rescuers, all the renaissance films, some of the 2000s movies, etc) and wanted, much like with toriyama by watching the buu saga, classic dragon ball and gt, pay homage to a very special artist, in this case: walter elias disney, a person that despite it's flaws i can't help but admire.

I was gonna play every main final fantasy from the first ii on psp to xii on ps2 to get all all the ff references in kh ii and enjoy the stories and characters (cecil), but i couldn't get past the first boss in ffI remake on psp (it confused me that to acces the towns you have to walk near the castle) and didn't got the time since i got to watch breaking bad wich is a very long series, i could some day do a marathon of ff but wouldn't be that different from other series i never finished or play little of (ratchet and clank and other plattformers, tomb raider, dragon quest, metroid, etc) i did manage to beat the first 5 gens of pokémon including the remakes in less than 2 months, but that was 4 Years ago, i was younger, days weren't as short and a lot of my favorite people on the internet haven't vanished or hid their content yet (podcasts and old long videos especially) these thing helped me get through this games much easily.

Basically: would i burnout playing a square-Disney game after marathoning the entere main disney filmography just to say goodbye to my inner kid? Should i watch or read other things such as watching monster or read the dragon ball manga instead? Is this even worth it in the first place?

I got burnout by marathoning Hollywood blockbusters from the 70s,80s and 90s but still found some incredible films (alien 1, terminator 2, the matrix, gremlins 1, etc) and hoped the same happened with disney.

but 1 thing is for sure: i'm gonna play kingdom hearts ii this december and try to prove to myself it Is one of the best games of all time even with it's flaws ,because much like other people, played it when i was 12 on normal and loved it, and i still pop it from time to time and enjoy how videogames pretty much peaked technically in 2005.

Sorry for the long post, an answer is appreciated, even more if it's detailed

Just doing a single marathon would lead to a burn out, its why some people pace themselves to 1 to 2 entries per a franchise a year so they can explore the rest of their list at their leisure and aren't held to a strict schedule, especially if you work or have school. I understand wanting to do so because you don't have major responsibilities but would very much reconsider an entire Disney backlog back to back in a year. Maybe just stick to Disney Animation and save live action Disney for another marathon, Maybe separate them by eras or just to the movies found in KH 1 and 2? I don't think this smaller movie number will be enough for a burn out.

I wish you good luck.
I would get burnout after 15 minutes of the first film.

I don't think the films will affect the game. Totally different beasts.

don't worry about the final fantasy games. they are barely used in the series. they mainly use characters from 7; so if you are familiar with that instalment, then you're good to go.
i would suggest just playing the final fantasy games over kingdom hearts, but you are free to do what you want to.

This.

Besides, the game's only cover a selection of films in the worlds, so you could just watch the films the games cover.

I'll be honest with you; I really don't think you need to do any of that. I'd say maybe only watch the movies that have corresponding worlds in KH2, but even then you basically get a cliff notes version of each films story as you play through the worlds anyway so up to you if you're really that curious I guess. In regards to the Final Fantasy stuff, you only really need to be familiar with VII since that's the one that's heavily referenced the most. While yes, other characters from the series show up in KH, it's not really necessary to have a deep knowledge on them or the games they appear in IMO (I enjoyed KH back in the day without knowing who Squall, Seifer, Vivi etc. were until a few years later later). Ultimately, it's obviously gonna be your choice what you do, but you probably WILL burn yourself out if you go through with watching every Disney movie.

This, it's mainly the FF games Nomura worked on that get representation in KH, and even then after BBS they're basically cameos.

That's the thing, i just wanted to marathon the main animation studio films (Walt Disney animation studios) the problem is that there are like 60 of those, i'm gonna watch one at least once a day and maybe 2 a day through 2 months (october - november) and take a rest after Oliver and before the little mermaid, the only live action films i watched where the pirates of the caribbean trilogy wich i loved and hope to get the 6th and final installment someday.

Thing is, i already watched almost every other mainstream animation film studio except Disney, i watched less than 20 and i think the only 1 i could do a marathon of other than them is ghibli, but i'm reserving it for the near future when we say goodbye to hayao miyazaki

And yeah, i only Beaten kingdom hearts i com, and ii, replayed the first 2 last year and waited for kingdom hearts ii 20th anniversary, since is the one i first played, beaten and overall the best one in the series in all aspects, played almost every entre and I've got to say: ddd, bbs, re:coded and iii are very enjoyable games, but their stories kinda ruin those games.

Kingdom hearts ii is like the majin buu saga: it was at some point the last one, it has a ton of flaws, and the pacing isn't the best, but they got some of the best moments in the series, awesome fights and a beautiful ending and a pretty awesome remaster in both cases (also both franchises become a meme and a cashgrab afterwards), so yeah, maybe I'll beat the other games in the future, but for me kh ii is the definitive ending

they were cameos in the first game. really only the cast of seven get included and i think squall was there once or twice. it's a huge missed opportunity to introduce 2 different fan bases to each other and grow the brand of two companies. i don't really care for disney. i only liked winnie the pooh, nothing else. so finding out that there would be hardly any ff characters besides 7, i lost interest real quickly.

You can do all of those things and still enjoy games and cartoons or whatever. Moderation is the key.

play KH 1 before anything else KH. then you can either play Chain of Memories or look up a video of it (some people like the card stuff some dont. quite honestly the GBA version is more manageable imo but to me it just kinda plays like a bad copy of Battle Network). then do KH 2. you can do BBS or Days also if you want but you can also play those after 2

Funny thing is did this exact same thing. I watched every Disney movie from 1936 to 2012 in 2023, and every Pixar film upt until TS3 in 2024 before playing Kingdom Hearts, and was not affected by it, but that's because i watched one once a week. Just this summer i watched the Nightmare before Christmas and Tron, and now im gonna watch the Pirates of the Caribean Trilogy.

I would not suggest you to do this however, only real hardcores can pull this stunt.

Thanks for the answer, my plan this year was to watch on or 2 a day, all while in the first chunk of the year beat every final fantasy up to XII, but it seems time wasn't my best pal in that case, still I thinked about it the same way scott the woz talked about lego games at the end of his video: "lego games aren't to play one after the other, you should play only the ones you're interested in" wich for huge companies like Disney and square where most of their titles and projects are autoconclusive and don't have much relation to one another It sems the most reasonable
