Solved Why can no one reply in the forum games area

Well, we banned the bigots and deleted the comments. It's not perfect, but it's what we got.

This specific problem is more of a personality issue, I used to see it a lot working retail. Some folks respond to criticism or anything they perceive as "getting told what to do" by trying to get the last word and exert some power over you. In the workplace, this was usually customers who couldn't use a coupon/ran into a rule we simply couldn't bend for them, and demanded something, *anything* to feel in control of the situation. "Get me your manager to tell me the same thing", or when I am the manager "Well give me a comment card to fill out", that sort of thing.

It's a similar thing on here; some folks who receive a warning or have a post taken down for any reason will simply refuse to move on, and keep escalating things in an effort to assuage their ego. I've had multiple people demand I delete their accounts after I take down some naked picture, usually while invoking Spike's name to "go over my head".

Honestly, I kinda get it.

When I received my first warning, I felt furious and deeply wronged. Of course, I had enough sense to realize that throwing a hissy fit about it would only make things worse for me. Those people clearly don't have even that.

Also in the same note. No political statement were made, the thread was about sharing Trans Video Game Characters (canon ones). Is kinda similar to posting your favorite waifu in that regard. And if you are not comfortable with that, just don't watch the thread is that simple.

Common sense is a difficult thing for some people, apparently.

Did you missed the part where it said video game characters? or am I drinking crazy juice again
I never participated in the thread. I didn't even see it. Even if I had I would have just ignored it.

This is what any normal person would do, but sadly that isnt happening with newcomers.

Yeah, exactly.

Even though video games are an art form (and art is all about making statements), the thread itself felt pretty harmless and made with the best intentions at heart.

Sadly, there will always be people taking issue with things that they could simply choose to ignore.

Damn I thought this was an April Fool's joke at first.
This makes me so sad. I wish people could just be respectful with their differing points of view. Threatening legal action? On what grounds? Its a video game forum ffs!
I know trolls are gonna troll but this is a mess.

Just logged into this. I'm guessing one of the trolls banned yesterday threw a bitch fit and started flinging threats to out the repo? I noticed they were locked instead of deleted, so maybe we can have nice things again once they get bored and move on.

Good job to the mods for handling things

good job to me for either being asleep or at work and missing the entire thing

Sights in the scope and the red dot, smack shit put the racks in my drip now I look like a fat bitch.

Having a bit of trouble fully understanding what happened, but from what I do understand... Yikes.

I think putting a very clear and visible "Respect each other identities" in the rules with a LGBT and trans flag next to it or something would go a long way. Combined with the "No politics" rule, hopefully this should discourage the kind of people we don't want here.

Requiring a higher level to post on the General section is a very good idea too.
