Why are the Anime Community being Sensitive about anime became a Mainstream.

Anime's been mainstream for as long as I can remember, it makes me feel less like a weirdo to say my top shows are all anime when Joe Normal says he likes to watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Code Geass. Also super happy that anime's become a more widely enjoyed thing because it means I can nerd out about some of my favorite anime to people and be seen as someone who's more of a fan than a weird otaku (even if i am).

Could you please stop misgendering me and insinuating that I'm a pedophile.
I think they said the guy in the genderless sense of the word (like "dude") in this context.

Furthermore you should also avoid to imply people may harm real life children on the sole basis of the kind of avatar they have on a video game forum to begin with. Not only this is defamatory and it's also disrespectful towards real victims.

Anyway, since about a decade ago we got people coming to like anime but also come to tell that "Japanese culture is problematic" in a really western-centric point of view regarding people with a different way to view certain things (which is quite bad when it comes to respect other cultures) or how some are wanting to call the fans from before "nerdy losers" when they share the same interests for some reason (as if there was a "right way" of enjoying things) to the point of making subtitles that aren't really what the characters are (and I don't mean saying "rice balls" instead of onigiri or trying to adapt to people that don't know exactly what an "okonomiyaki" is so they say "pancake" or "crepe" instead).
