Who is this game for?

I don't trust Atlus on this much like Sega, but if all the versions of the game are kept for sale somehow, that would be the best outcome possible.
Sega is absolute shit about it, I'm still salty about them removing the Mega Drive Sega classics from Steam because you could get the Sonic games for like $5 dollars and they couldn't have that ofc, but even if they are the publishers I believe they still allow Atlus to have some level of independence, let's hope it stays that way

It's a remake, and remakes are selling well now. Changes are necessary to bait people into coming back for it, and an overhaul to the gameplay might be more welcoming to casuals that jumped in with P5R or P3R.

It is guaranteed that you will have crazy people boycotting it for stupid reasons, but Sega's going to probably have a good quarter once it's out, selling a lot of copies.

I don't understand why the game needs a "remake", and I understand even less why would people buy it when they can play the original for cheaper or even the Steam version.

I don't know what that means, but I know what it spells...

Simply put, they'll censor the "offensive parts."

In which, in reality those are actually just tasteless jokes compared to the scene with the trans woman in Persona 3.

Where, I completely accept censorship In that one over there because it's truly offensive.

I don't even think Yosuke's homophobia is so cartoonishly handled that it necessitates being changed from the original or even reads as whats traditionally "offensive". It felt human and circumstantially related to his environment, the original game just never bothered to go past that point as to have him grow into a better person that got over it. If anything, this should be an opportunity to do what the original PS2 games development tried to do with him and expand on that part of his character. Of course, my job to place faith into a company it is not.

Persona 4 Golden is a fan servicey game. And we can't have that in 2026! What would the "good" people think?!

Atlus came out earlier this year saying that it would be looking to "attract a wider audience" with its games. And this is part of it.

Here is an article about it:

«So what kind of change is Hashino actually looking for? Well, as much as hardcore fans may not want to hear it, he does mention "accessibility" concerns, suggesting that more could be done to bring Atlus titles to a wider audience.

"With these changing times, we do feel the need to update our format and create games that would be more widely playable, not just within the JRPG realm, but something that would be easier, more accessible for a wider audience. We're hoping to update our format with that in mind," he admits.»

This game is for the impulse buyers, the shiny graphics addicted, the socially progressive, the fans of censorship, investors, investment companies and political bodies.

Another attempt by the entertainment industry to attract the so called "modern audience", an audience that strangely enough never shows up to buy the games or the movie tickets.

Sad to see ATLUS doing it.

If that's the case, if there was one remake of the ps1 trilogy, Or from remake SMT from the early years of the franchise.
It they would be completely censored too....

Character have personality?
Uh oh we can't allow that it's 2026 after all!
I have a sort of misguided admiration for studios willing to sink the annual budget of a small nation developing a game starred by cardboard xD
