Which weapons in video games are not useful in real life?

Big ass sword would be  useful if you have the strength to wield it. Tired of this argument..
Here's one.

Akimbo pistols are basically asking to lose.
That actually is doable but requires alot of hand eye coordination and training, generally speaking it's also unwieldy past the 9mm or so round.

TL;DR it's doable, but not necessarily "smart" unless you trained for it.

Thank you for saying what I was feeling.

The infamous pizza cutter sword from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance will always be the first to come to mind. The second will be the pizza cutter chainsaw from Final Fantasy XII. It doesn't matter how much power you put behind that thing, it's still not going to be that good in battle.

one of the first characters that comes to mind when I hear the phrase "Which weapons in video games are not useful in real life?" I always remember cloud's

This reminds me about this video I saw on Youtube:

You're 100% right. Not only is the sword bulky but would be stupidly heavy to the point that not even professional body builders can carry it!

On the other hand, this unwieldy slab of metal will stop a bullet.

To be fair to cloud, in story cloud is a super soldier empowered by jenova cells, which is why he can lift it.
The real problem with something like that isn't the lifting part though, it's the inertia of not throwing yourself when using it.

Would be really cool to see a version of one of these giant sword wielding guys where the animators/chariographers account for this, like accelerate it and let it do its thing and then anchor themselves to the environment to control it. Would take a lot more skill and hindsight to do it well.

Ivy's whip swords from SoulCalibur.

In real life those things would be SUPER unwieldy.
I am imagining someone trying to swing them and just falling to pieces after flashy showboating.

Continuing on with the pizza cutter theme we have the Whirligig Saw from Bloodborne. The untransformed state is a long mace, that'd be usable. As soon as you stick the mace into the circular blade part it becomes a bit silly. Still a really good and cool weapon though.

I'm gonna keep on going with Bloodborne weapons. The Kirkhammer is up next. Like the Saw, the untransformed state would be fine, it's just a sword. Transformed you stick the sword into a huge stone block. Good luck lifting that, let alone using it.

Finally, Logarius' Wheel. It's... a big fucking wheel. It's the only weapon in the game that I'm both bad with and don't think is cool. Plus it literally drains your life when you power it up. I've been spanked by it while dueling online, so I know it's not useless, but I'll pass.

Thinking about it, most of the weapons in Bloodborne would be unusable in real life in one form or even both. The rule of cool applies so it's all good in the end.

Would this thing even work in real life?

It's like you take a dog and use it as a weapon lol

I know someone who lost a piece of their finger because of an unnecessarily sharp pizza cutter

The only way to use a sword like this is like Garen uses it in League of Legends, spinning.

I feel like this is part of the fantasy of this game, the idea of unusual weapons makes the game seem more fantasy than usual.

The Dr Jekyll cane: because it can't attack anything, not even bees!

A cane as a weapon doesn't seem so bad to me, it's like a golf club.
But I don't know the character

This freaking keyblade.
I...don't know where to start. How do you wield it? It must be heavy as hell and impossible to swing.

And... What's that thing in the middle between the two Kingdom Keys!?

Fun. I had an ex who owned a life-size Keyblade replica. Only thing is that the chain was a little long, the Mickey Mouse emblem would hit you in the hand if you swung it, so I learned to hold the emblem in hand along with the handle. A little uncomfortable to grip, but it's better than beating your hand up with Mickey Mouse's head.
