If it ain't Annabelle it's gonna be M3gan

I pretty much did the same thing!! I followed a GameFAQ's guide by a guy called AbsoluteSteve who was like "Oh yeah before you leave Balam Gardens you're probably gonna wanna draw 99 of every spell". Now I've got Squall one-shotting everything on his turn and team mates who are hitting for puny damage
That's awesome, yeah I used to stop and draw the max for every new magic spell I came across, I never figured out how to change my weapon, never found all the GFs or cards, and I was gonna go back and do it all but ended up saving over my main file after Ragnarok, when you're locked out of every location but the endgame.

A miserable experience indeed

If only you could do that in Final Fantasy VIII, I'd be able to win at cards outside the starting region..
y'know i never played triple triad during my playthrough of 8, when i learned about it i thought 'i'll check it out later' and i never did

you can technically change the current triple triad rules in ff8 to ones you like:

It is so worth it, it's fun and addicting and some people say it's the best part about FFVIII.

Personally, I like the junctioning system. 😅

Playing FFVIII in hard mode? LOL
I was 13 and it was my first time playing; I didn't know the enemies were the average party level!

I like FFVIII junction system too. It's so weird, and I like rpgs with weird systems.
When I first finished FFVIII I had a magazine with a complete walkthru - I knew nothing of english back then.

Das brutal. I only ever got as far as just after breaking out of the prison with shotgun cowboy dude. At least I got to see the cutscene that kicked off the creepypasta "Squall is dead" theory (that's still pretty creepy)

Yeah i loved cheesing the crap out of my characters with junctioning powerful spells, especially when i got the no encounters ability for one of my GFs (can't remember who it was) so i could run around ICThell/heaven and draw all of the powerful spells from the hidden spots on the islands. I got so powerful that i made the rest of the game super easy for myself. I remember going to get GF Eden and being a little worried about how long it would take because Ultima Weapon was the second most powerful boss in the game, i remember taking it down way before it could do any meaningful damage to my party. I think that it got like only one light pillar in before dying.

FF8 is my favorite FF game. /true
i actually really like the junctioning system /true
and how enemies are average party level /true

EDIT:
i've modded my own FF8 game by changing the strings in it to create crazy spells like
demi having a added poison effect
or an all-enemy water spell that inflicts slow.

cooked lots of spells that way and some abilities too. /true /proud <3

Awesome! My ex had the guide (in English), but I never used it.

I've only heard vaguely of that theory, but he was pretty much dead even when he was alive. Just don't talk about him in the past tense. ::dkapproves

Hell yeah, when I played everyone but Squall would just die with no chance of gaining any EXP.

D&D is sooooo boring but I have nothing else to do tf are y’all doing?
It's boring only when you make it boring, my players have had a blast recently we had three sessions during of which my players got to raid a mansion, fight through a war-torn city and take a joyride in an experimental fighter jet before crashlanding and fighting their way through an enemy airship
