It wasn't like a gang thing some teens got pissy with someone and they shot the guy, is Brazil dangerous or something? I only know it from my father who stayed in Salvador as a kid.

I haven't been to Brazil in 12 years so i can't say much about it's current state, but back when i lived there the bigger cities were pretty fucking dangerous unless it was a city from the South (and even then i still wouldn't walk around on them after 9 pm)
It's still strange though that some teenager can just carry a Gun to a mall and shoot somebody. Don't they at least have metal detectors for this sort of stuff where you live?
