Which user would you go on a date with?

Ayy you've started it now? That game gets so good. It has "just" enough twists on standard fairy tale stories to feel fresh, and I think they got the xp/levelling ratio just right.

I also love how spritely and short the victory theme is. I didn't play with any of the difficulty modifiers on (I think?) but I can imagine they make a reasonably beatable game a real tough time
Yeah man!! That game is so good man. It’s still technically the weekend for me so it’s super easy to start a new game for moi.
DQ is a series where I’m fully onboard with its consistency. I always welcome even the tiniest updates.
Ironically I am a *slight* purist. I only replay them in (mostly) their original releases haha. Exception obviously applies to bug fix patches and whatnot.

am i correct or incorrect in assuming that the pc port would have received enhanced visuals? i suppose i assumed the textures would be higher resolution, the framerate would be much higher, and so on
I have some unfortunate news for you.

also dragon quest xi is a very good game, i enjoyed my time with it a lot
it lacks the flash and circumstance of many other contemporary role playing games, but it really does not need such things, and almost stands out with how fundamental it is
sort of like virtua fighter for the 3d fighting genre

That’s true I got my start with the DQ series more than a decade ago when I first tried rpgs for the first time (they weren’t popular here so I was really late to the party) and my mind just always defaults to DQ with rpgs. It’s got a special block in my mind.

Considering how influential of a series DQ has been historically to RPG's as a whole, I'm really surprised it's taken so long for them to become a household title. At least over here. Even with the runaway success of XI, it's rare I hear it named dropped. I'll definitely be picking up XII when it releases.

I’m on two sides here.
Either I’d give you my serious answer and rec them anyways
Or give my sarcastic answer and say they all suck and you’re not missing much
I’m so torn; type an essay, or commit to sarcasm? So many choices…
Be sarcastic lmao

which countries do you live in where dragon quest was not a popular name until recently? i am very curious

I'm in the UK. I don't live in a big city or anything, but I never saw a copy of Dragon Quest on any store shelves until IX released for the DS. And when JRPG's have been brought up in conversation, it's always Final Fantasy, Pokémon etc.

Even UK gaming magazines I used to read never made all that big a fuss about the series. I only heard about them at first because of US content creators on sites like Screw Attack

im late to the SMT party here but my two cents

SMT 2 on SNES is my favourite SMT game.
Soul Hackers on 3DS is fucking awesome
Persona 3 FES is my favourite persona game specifically because its so jank. the jankiness adds an extra layer of depth to it for me that i enjoy far more compared to even P3P and especially P4/P4G and P5/R

SMTIV is really fucking good too, great even. the initial difficulty bump is pretty jarring, but once you get into that groove and swing, its so fuckin good

Wow. It's nice to be back.
Glad to have you back Ruky!

I'm in the south, and it's very flat. I can walk for miles in any direction without encountering any hillsides. It's different in the north. Lots of natural hilled regions and changes in terrain.

What we do have is a whole lot of forests and pastures. Blake famously called south England the "Green and pleasant land", and it's a spot on description.

The town I'm from has been hit quite hard by changes in the job market. Still, I think there's still a decent sense of community, and I have no desire to move. I love the place and the people, even though I have no desire to ever interact with them irl xD ::holdup

Sorry for the essay.

i see thank you
what is the term for the slash at the end of posts with the different letters accompanying it?
