Which translation patch were you most eagerly awaiting?

Probably Star Ocean. I remember checking the Dejap site almost daily. If you'd asked kid me in 2003 what game I was most excited for, I probably would have said either Halo 2 or the Star Ocean fan translation, lol

Irony is I don't think I ever even finished it when the patch did finally release.

Bahamut Lagoon was another big one.

These days I'd really like to see Metal Max 4 and, though it's somewhat redundant with the Switch and PC versions, I'd like to play the 3ds version of DQXI some day.

Also Xenosaga I & II on DS - I hope that gets picked up some day. I think the last attempt was abandoned.
Xenosaga 1 and 2 on DS is something I await alongside the super robot wars alpha 1-3 translations.

Also Evangelion 2 on the psp.

Most fan translations I've played, I really enjoyed the dragon quest snes translations. I am really glad that square enix just release all dragon quest games now, it was difficult being a western dragon quest fan for a long time.

There's a few I could mention that have been released since:
Policenauts
Disaster Report 3
Castlevania: SOTN
(Saturn Ver.)
UPPERS!

The most recent one that I just found out was finally translated was Princess Crown (Saturn) tho. That has been one of the oldest running patch projects ever afaik of, multiple teams came and went for almost 30 years! And seeing this game finally getting translated is truly astounding. Kudos to the team behind this translation project ::thumbsupwario

I didn't exactly await it. It just happened. But there were certain Japanese games I really liked and was certain they were never going to be translated but had I known they actually had translation patches in the future, I would have eagerly awaited it.

Konami Wai Wai World. I loved this game a lot, our equivalent of Captain N here (which was never televised here until much later when it was out of date) but like it, an awesome crossover of NES games. It was regarded here like an urban legend, mentioned in public game centers and videogame enthusiasts in whispers. I rented it, slogged through it in Japanese, bought it, enjoyed it and mastered it and after decades, was surprised there is now a fully translated version.

Ganbare Goemon series - I bought Ganbare Goemon 1 and 2 for the Famicom/NES as a curiosity since Goemon unknown at the time, was one of the characters in Konami Wai Wai World and wanted to know more about him. I was amazed at how good Ganbare Goemon 2 was and was surprised to see some risque content in it...gambling, strip shows and, Goemon getting laid with a Tanooki in disguise. I knew it would never get released in the U.S. Was surprised when Legend of Mystical Ninja came out in the U.S. but of course it was heavily censored. Now very surprised that practically every title of the older Ganbare Goemon games are now fully translated and uncensored, even the RPG ones. Very happy about it and now enjoying all of them.

Getsu Fuuma Den - Another game I bought as a curiosity thanks to Wai Wai World and still managed to slog through and finish it even without understanding it. (I managed to luck out on that part where you had to talk to someone multiple times to progress). Now fully translated and enjoyed it.

There are two games I remember that I still want translation patches for but I don't know if anyone is working on it.

Super Adventure Rockman
Street Fighter 2: The Movie. (Street Fighter 2: The Interactive Movie game)

I find strange that Nekketsu Oyako (English Patched) for PSX has come out but not for Saturn. For PSX I would like the translation of Tatsunoko Fight and Gatchaman The Shooting, and logically a Megadrive patch that makes Altered Beast like the arcade coin-op!

My top 3 would be:
1 - Wachenroeder
2 - Soeldnerschild
3 - Cyber Doll

But I also have a list of my personal 6/10 or better games that never got English releases or ports on other consoles or fan translations and that you can't play without knowing Japanese (I also have a list of games you can more or less play because they have zero or very little Japanese text despite never getting an English release):

N64:
Custom Robo V2 (technically this has a beta ENG patch but I can't get it not to crash)

Game Boy/Color:
Ganbare Goemon - Mononoke Douchuu Tobidase Nabebugyou
Ganbare Goemon - Seikuushi Dynamites Arawaru
Ganbare Goemon - Tengutou no Gyakushuu
Hunter x Hunter - Kindan no Hihou

GBA:
Densetsu no Stafy 2
Elemix!
Monster Gate
Monster Gate - Ooinaru Dungeon - Fuuin no Orb
Mr. Driller Ace

TG-16:
Momotarou Katsugeki

TG-CD:
In Magical Adventure - Fray CD

PS1:
Ore no Ryouri
UFO - A Day in the Life

PSP:
Coded Soul - Uketsugareshi Idea
Gachitora - Abarenbou Kyoushi in High School
Initial D - Street Stage
Kingdom of Paradise 2
Kisou Ryouhei Gunhound EX
Macross Ace Frontier

Game Gear:
Fray - Shugyou Hen
Taisen-gata Daisenryaku G

Saturn:
Assault Suit Leynos 2
Black Matrix
Blue Seed
Cyber Doll
Grandia - Digital Museum
Langrisser V
Magical School Lunar!
Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari
Soeldnerschild
Solo Crisis

Terra Phantastica
Wachenroeder

Oh man, I have three cases:

Klonoa Heroes (GBA): I was waiting for a english translation for this game since I was a child! When it was finally released, I screamed of happiness xD

Panzer Bandit (PS1): being a beat 'em up without much story, it was easy to just pick up and play Panzer Bandit, but I still wanted to see a translation because the game deserves one, so the moment a brazilian portuguese version was released my jaw dropped, I was super happy xD

Digimon Story: Lost Evolution (DS): this was a game that I was waiting for the translation for a while, sometimes checking up the progress and possible release date. Words can't describe how excited I was to finally play Lost Evolution on my DS in english x)

Hungry Ghost (PS2) and Shadow Hearts Director's Cut (PS2)

This was never going to ever get an official English Localization. No way in hell.
I'm glad that it finally did get a Fan Patch and that they even bothered to translate the manga panels too. Did it like a true scanlation group would.

I'd like to see Far East of Eden IV to get the Bulk Slash treatment one day.

gundam seed destiny for gba.

also i noticed my gba core always has a hair width of the left side of the screen on the right, i never found a fix.

Very excited at the progress of the Sword World SFC translations, can't wait for 1.0 on SW1!!

For Me what would be waiting for a translation from English is the Bomberman (2008, WII) mainly because of the story mode that for some reason is not translated into English although it is possible to play the game despite the language barrier but no one has made a translation of the best region of the game compared to the western versions we had on WiiWare (Bomberman Blast) that did not have a story mode due to the limitations of the WiiWare game storage. 💣

And the Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi (2007, PS2) which is a video game based on the anime of the same name that I watched on the ZAZ Channel (63/315) on cable (+TV Digital from C&W Panama) but the game at least has a English translation patch that is in development but only the menus because the rest of the game is in Japanese and as well as the story mode that is in Japanese but if it continues in good steps in the development of the translation of the game in the future I will finally be able to play the game where it tells the story of Kenichi Shirahama who is the protagonist. 🥋

PS1
Front mission 2
Front mission alterrnative
Assault suit valken 2

Wonderswan Color
Ark The Lad: Kishin Fukkatsu

flower and sun (ds) was a quite solid version of the og, but the ps2 still is much better obv

burado plus+ is another suda51 mini gem

abarenbou princess is a crazy/goofy jrpg like game with many cool moments

chain dive, is like a fusion of spiderman and zote, gameplay/design wise

phase paradox, is dub voiced, but the text is in japanese, plus, to get the story better, and read the journals and etc, you need that stuff, translated

and tod2 is the sequel which follow stahn's son = kyle, and kyle has his own tuff obstacles and adventures to face

i still hope for these ps2 games to be on english as well, ps2 library too good 💪

oh that tales of destiny 2 english translation project i still waiting that so i can continue tales of series

I really hope someone gets around to translating the Gihren's Greed games- there's an incomplete translation of Menace of Axis, but that's about it as far as I'm aware. We're sorely lacking in good Gundam games already without the language barrier keeping like a third of them inaccessible, lol

Growlanser 1. Soon(TM). ::flexing

Though I really hope they would translate the PSP version too when at it, cause it's a more complete experience with new routes and such.
