I've shared games with my brother and friends before using just the game files.
then you are no better than common pirate bay scam and should give yourself up to authorities and do jail time to repent for your sins

Good Old Games having 0 DRM makes it de facto better.

In my opinion, they are all the same. They sell you a 'license' (think movie ticket) and merely allow you to access what you paid for. At no point do you own anything you purchase. As such with DRM they can yank it at any time.
I'd be the devil's advocate and tell that even physical games are technically just you owning the licence. The disc itself is merely a way to host the files and even then can have a DRM.

GoG by far. Epic games launcher still lacks some basic QoL features and is slow to filter your own library.

GoG offers DRM-Free games (with some exceptions) and it's launcher can be used with games from other launchers.

i feel bad for epic games not a single soul on its side. must feel lonely

GoG, I don't buy from epic, but having the heroic games launcher for running the free games they offer is really fantastic. I hate to imagine how much money Epic have to throw around. PC game sales are a bit of a poor state though when it comes to ownership.

GOG all the way, I originally used it as a way to play older games but I expanded upon that to Indie and some AAA games since GOG is DRM free.

Honestly, I'd switch to GOG permanently if A. It had every game I have on steam and my steam wish list. and B. I could import my entire Steam library to GOG because I'm not paying for the same game on the same platform twice.

GOG.com is vastly better in my opinion. Galaxy launcher, while still lacking in some features, it does well enough to stand out from the others and you can use to integrate your library from other platforms easily on it as well. Not to mention once you buy something on GOG.com, you're free to download DRM-free backup for many of their DRM-free games without even needing a client at all (unlike Steam or Epic). The main reason I have an Epic account is for the free games and occasionally DRM-free games they give out for free.

a retail store with a real clerk who asks you how was your day even if he did not care, bcz he is a flesh & blood human liek you and it is important to talk to ppl, even if it is for banal things like purchasin games from a store

I disagree, while it's nice to talk to a real person they're not always the best at their job and sometimes they're being rude.

I know that it's just my personal experience but in the video game section of my local store where I buy physical games and other stuff the vendors are most of the time knowing nothing about video games or I just end up grabbing my stuff, pay and go home asap instead of having to deal with them.

I feel that it's only relevant decades ago with a dedicated shop where the vendor knows what it has.

GOG by miles ahead, EGS is only good for their free weekly games, even then I still don't feel incentivize to claim it as the store is so devoid of QoL feature and stuffs.

GOG games are easy to set up on Linux and they have a good selection of older games.
