Everyone has a game that excites them so much that they will play it again and again. My best game was Final Fantasy 7 for the Playstation, it was also my very first RPG. What was your first game ??

For rpg's, phantasy star 4, which is my second most favorite game, my favorite game though is ys 8 lacrimosa of dana.

It's hard for me to answer since there's a lot of games that everytime i think of one of them i say "this is my fav game ever!" But then few minutes later I'll remember another game and say the same thing so currently currently it's a constant fight between:

Doki Doki literature club
The legend of zelda

It's pretty basic bish for me, but I have played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night to death. if there's any game I'd wanna do a challenge run on / stream / speedrun / any combo of the above, it'd be this.

And I used to play Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars annually, for years on end. Other than a dabble and ass-kicking from the Dragon Warrior 1 randomizer, this is also the only game I've felt brave enough to randomize.

it's a bit odd for me in that the usual faves that come to mind would be Thief 1/2 and Blood which are really great overall with a few bumps in level design or balance throughout, but the baseline they provide results in some fan-made content that i think refines things even further.
it's hard to pick one favourite for either Thief game in that regard, but i can say pretty handily that the mod Blood: Death Wish is my favourite FPS campaign ever. its next update with a new episode is my most anticipated game release of any kind for the last few years now.

I'd say System Shock 2 is almost a perfect game, probably the best one I've played from almost every angle. I think it is better than Bioshock. I'd also say the same for Batman: Arkham City. I almost think the same about the Witcher 3, but the combat isn't the greatest at times and the world is almost too large for its own good. I also think Demon Souls is excellent, although some of the newer souls games might be better, I haven't tried them. But Demon Souls got everything right about the formula from the beginning.

Favorite game is a hard question. But if I really think about it. Probably Crash Twinsanity, Doom Eternal, Ninja Gaiden 2, MGS2, and Resident Evil 4 are big contenders for top 5 for me, all games i replay constantly. A lesser favorite would be maybe something like Manhunt or Mafia 2, great games. I always have a hard time with this.

i'm huge in RPGs so replaying them all is time consuming.
I guess i'll name a few

Dragon quest 3, i've played EVERY port of this, i like the CREATING character system and the reincarnation into other classes, i spent a lot of time just spamming levels just to reincarnate into other classes and do it again (to learn all the skills/magic and max stats out)

Final fantasy 5, just as easily my favorite FF game, the job change system is so much fun, i hate how most FF games don't use it. played all the ports of this too.

Bravely default, second, and default 2 which all use the FF5 job system,
Bravely second is one of my TOP favorite RPGs. very recommended if you like turn based JRPG and class change systems.

Ys 8 which honestly i'm having a hard time finding a better game to list here, it's so good even if you've never played a single Ys game prior (the timelines a mess but each game is it's own game, think zelda)
anyone who hasn't played YS 8 should ABSOLUTELY play it, i couldn't recommend a game more than this.

Jet Set radio future, seriously SEGA WTF is wrong with you!? how has there not been ONE REMASTER OR REMAKE OF THIS GAME!? jesus, this game is the ONLY reason i still have the original XBOX!
christ everytime i play this i feel amazing, the graphics, the gameplay, the MUSIC which i have to say is the BEST GAME SOUNDTRACK EVER.

on the retro side of things, two games i've replayed more times than i can keep count
the first is, Sonic the hedgehog 3 and Knuckles, top sonic game, i will fight anyone who disagrees,
everytime i play a shitty modern sonic game i go RIGHT back to playing sonic 3 and K, and feel like i'm in the 90s again (the best time for gaming) i bought sonic origins so damn fast, since thats the closest to a remaster Sonic 3 I can get.

the second game, Super mario world, i've replayed and 100% this so many times, alongside super mario all-stars (Mario 1,2,3) i mean i can play any mario game and have fun with it, but mario world is where it all became amazing, F to pay respects to all the sacrificed Yoshis over the years

as for the games i have the most (to my knowledge) play time on:
phantasy star online (i had near 200 hours on ONE character, another 100, and just random numbers of hours across all ports and custom servers over the years) i still play this at random.

Dragon quest monsters 1, the game time got STUCK at 999:59 on my save, and i was STILL playing a long while, maxing out so much of that game i could one turn the hardest fight.

all the disgaea games, but 4 i had 350+ hours on.

I'll refrain from mentioning fighting games, as that genre in general has my favorite games overall.

Castlevania SOTN, Metal Gear Solid 1, and the two N64 Zeldas are frequently considered to be my favorites. I also love Metroid Zero Mission, DMC3, and the Mystery Dungeon series of games.

My top 10 changes fairly frequently, and I enjoy just about every genre to some degree, with the exception of BRs or Hero Shooters.

My first game could've been any of these three games; I grew up around the DS era, but my father had some earlier systems that I played as well:

Super Mario & Duck Hunt (NES)
Greatest Heavyweights Boxing (GEN)
Mario Kart DS

If I finished persona or shin megami tensei I would say them to.
