Where are you now?

I live in a small village in the province of Como (northern Italy), a quiet and peaceful place gently embraced to the north by the laughing and majestic Swiss Alps, and which proudly overlooks the quiet and melancholic waters of Lake Como to the south. ?

pervert... j/k
its always interesting seeing other cities not just google earth but also google maps seeing tourist attraction pictures, reviews etc

Hi. I live in Spain, in a small town in Guadalajara.

i dont think its small
its 1M+ population

do you have questions related to Beijing i will try to answer it
Is the city as polluted as we believe here? I mean both smog and noise pollution.
Are the hygienic conditions in the restaurants good? Here (Italy) chinese restaurants are often fined (sometimes closed) for poor hygienic conditions, poorly preserved or spoiled food, and exploitation of staff.
Do those who work there have fair, honest wages and working hours? In chinese textile companies in my country, employees are often exploited and underpaid. *

That said, I love chinese philosophy, especially Taoism and the teachings of the ancient Chan masters. ?

*edit: Perhaps, on second thought, it concerns more the distant past than the present day, and perhaps more our prejudice toward China than reality. ?‍♂️

The town where I live has a population around 5000 people, for me, that's a small town :)

Noise pollution wise i dont think its that bad in non-touristic place
if you can avoid the crowd by going to beijing in non-weekend and non-holiday season, its quite okay too (the main noise in tourist spot here is the tour group and their loud speaker explaining stuff)

for food safety (in beijing) its quite safe if its a restaurant... there is a food safety rating for each restaurant that they have to put where customer can see it , the staff wages are okayish mabe a bit higher than minimum wages for waiter but chef, manager paid well. also worth noting that tipping is "illegal" here... so if you try giving waitress tip here a lot of them will return it to you

a factory worker is another ball game, and im sure some are in bad conditions (most factories moved out of big cities)

air pollution is very good now.. only few days in a year with heavy pollution (major improvement from when i came like 10 years+ ago)

there are still some taoism temples here which preserved well

Oh boy
Ooooooooh boy oh boy
Well freaking ,Tunisia ,the unnamed village ,
Now the place it self isn't bad ,it's just most of the people are basically putting money above anything else ,well since it's a poor and remote place so I can understand that ,but there is limits right ?
And that became much apparent when the illegal immigrants from mid Africa came here as a stop for them to eventually immigrate to Italy ,and All hell broke loose .let me not talk about the details but what I saw made me realize that I need to leave this shit hole as soon as possible

Over a mile above sea level. I wish to go back down, but I need to wait a little bit before doing that. That is to say: Colorado.

I'm currently in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania.

We have lots of mountains and trees here. I'm more specifically in a suburb-rural area hybrid. It's nice where I live.

Seattle, fairly close to downtown. I like it, for most of the reasons people say it's not cool (too much rain, too gloomy, too much graffiti, etc)

I live in Rio de Janeiro, and I'm from here.

This week we've been enjoying one of our famous heat waves, with today hitting about 30ºC. Tomorrow we'll be at 24ºC max. Thankfully.

Somewhere near the Andean Mountains... I have complicated feelings about this place the hot/dry weather in summer i really hate it, as the the amount of people, to big of a city for my taste, I much prefer more rural, less populated cities.
On the other hand finding most of what I need rather easily, is nice, also too many roots keeping me in this land(Family and Martial Arts Camaraderie).

Emilia Romagna, Italy. But I lived until a year ago in Calabria.

You mean right exactly now at this moment? I'm at IKEA, eating Valstrax or whatever you call it for lunch, prolly heading home soon.

A place called Lambeg we used to have a coca cola factory here for years. Its still made it in my city but the local one was interesting done the tour. We have great train and bus links and a golf course as well as river walks and countryside very interesting to explore when lockdown was on i was never bored and always on my own out on the road.
