what's your take on gen alpha and now beta

I think "Beta" is a really dumb name for the generation following "Alpha". They couldn't come up with something other than the next Greek letter in the sequence? This is why "Generation Y" never caught on for Millennials, and why nobody calls Boomers "Generation W".

They should have called Generation Beta something like... something like... "Snargumbatroids" or "Hanglerinos" or "Baboon Ticklers", just to give them a unique identity.

This is the kind of stuff the government should be paying you to think up. No one would hate on gen B if they were the Snargumbatroids.

I usually hate when older people ☠☠☠☠-talk younger generations (except for the Boomers; they are measurably, literally lead-brained). They did that with every currently living generation, and often the criticism was off.

That said, Gen Z honestly earn it, and Gen A is set on the path to being no different. Both generations have the potential for greatness, and yet they squander it on TikTok and other influencer trash, poisoning their minds with misinformation and apps designed on the gambling machine addictiveness model. They go around fighting for causes they don't understand, attacking allies who are working towards the goals they want to accomplish, and standing up for enemies who pretend to support them while scamming them out of their future. And when they're told that they are hurting themselves, they react like a drug addict and get angry at those trying to protect them from their own dumb behavior.

And you can't really blame Gen X or Millennials for this, as we tried to warn them. (Boomers, who still overwhelming hold power and either do nothing or encourage it, can be blamed, though.) We still are trying to warn them, and yet they pretend they are rebelling in their conformity to big tech, greedy scammers, and malicious governments. And you can't just call this a phase like the mistakes of previous generations' youths, as this will have (and already does have) horrible consequences.

Or at least, that's Gen Z. Gen A are still kids, but they exhibit the child versions of this, with brain rot training them to accept even worse stuff later. And Gen Z was not too different earlier on. More uniquely, though, they are smaller in number than what would work for economic sustainability, which is likely to cause serious problems in the future.

Colleges are shutting down right now, and more are likely to do so in September. That's because the kids born in 2008 — what little there were — are turning 18, and not enough are going to college. That's not their fault; they just don't have the numbers to keep things going. And the numbers continue to go down, as the economy doesn't allow for births to return to the replacement rate, and the older generation running things doesn't care. Colleges aren't the only things that will suffer from this, though; there are tons of economic repercussions that we will see in the near future.

Gen B are newborns. There's nothing to say about them other than they are few and that is a problem.

It reads like something kotaku writer would say unironically.
I am not sure what Ai program it's from, but it must be bit dated.
Here's some better reading material for you, then:

I have a lot of issues with generational discourse; Especially when it comes to the internet, people have always acted like trigger happy idiots. There seems to be this huge mentality that “oh my generation was so much better because-“ the fact is the older people raised and set the tracks for the generation they’re complaining about. People have always gone on stupid riots about what not, people hate change, things that challenge their world view. People love finding excuses to attack each other (rock music , video games, how often things have been ridiculed because of religion)

I feel like the internet is just putting a microscope on existing issues. It’s ingredient to point at another generation saying how ignorant they are, when people have always consumed miss information, brain rot, and mindlessly fallowed a cause.

But this is a reductive point to begin with everyone has been raised differently, why are we putting millions of people who have been born and raised in vastly different circumstances under an umbrella.

Although perhaps I’m just another uneducated member of gen Z :(

(I am not saying people being raised on the internet isn’t a problem, but it feels off to blame someone for how they’re raised. Also no matter how old someone is they can still be an absolute idiot on the internet. )

They should be taken away or something

Oh, and just for the record, I checked GPTZero. My score was 98% human, 2% AI. That's pretty good for a post I stopped working on not because I couldn't have written more, but because I'm tired.

And Kotaku isn't actually that bad of a publication. They just get ☢☢☢☢-talked by certain types of people.

miguk I don't think adressing mass group of people in such a dissmissive manner such as "gen x, y, z" is very respectful, or respectful at all.
It is dehumanising to disregard someone's individual will, let alone blame strangers at masses for the societal downfall in video game forum.

I don't what website did you came from or what your deal is but what you typed is uncalled for to say the least.
And if you expect me or anyone else write paragraphs of material compiled by an algorithm then you will have to pardon my impertinence because I am not accustomed in the use of such means.

I just feel bad for them since Gen Z is kind of one giant guinea pig generation when it comes to being raised in online spaces. It's done them a disservice, just like it has with all generations currently, but I feel they got the brunt of it since y'all didn't even get a chance to let your brains develop a bit before you were fully online and digital. There's quite a few that are saying they'll not let their kids be i-pad kids and are trying to shift toward a more digitally minimalist lifestyles, since they know they got done dirty. Good for them.

Also who the hell decided to call it gen alpha and beta, wtf is the next one going to be omega, sigma, gamma?!

you all have it difficult, internet came to soon for society and turned alot of people into sheep/NPC's IMO largely because you cant turn it off and walk away and i think it hurts your generation. i grew up on the cusp of internet and mobiles. we touched grass as kids and lived a life without hearing everyone's opinions. no hate just what it seems like with my niece/nephew and social media
I have to agree with this. I belonged to the first generation to have both Internet, mobile phones AND social media as teens... and it just broke us. It was suddenly all about updating our Fotologs and chatting on MSN Messenger, only going out to snap the perfect picture to post on those sites. It was also about comparing phones and making fun of the odd kid who refused to be swept by the tidal wave of electronic communication. We were highly toxic and celebrated for it, too.

Yeah super respectful that. I checked GPTZero and it said 100% respect, 0% despacito.

Pretty silly to trust AI opinion when to recognize other AI because you don't trust AI opinion.

Ok, Zoomer.

You keep on throwing the same whataboutism and insults that the guys we're supposed to keep out of this forum use constantly when they aren't being treated as the master race (as apposed to just admitting you made a mistake), and I'll keep on reporting you for violating the rules.

Here's a better question; who cares what AI thinks, and how about following Rule #1 about respecting other members and their opinions?

Super ultra respectful that.
What does GPTOne say about it?
I'm more interested about what Spike will say about you when he gets around to reading the reports. Hopefully you won't be derailing this conversation, or any other, any longer.

DM him then lol.
But I doubt threatning other forum users is very respectful either.
You *REALLY* don't want to play that card.

I'm frankly disgusted by the tone of the last couple of interactions on this thread and I'll ask of everyone who's active on it to refrain from continuing down this route.
