What's your favourite Shin Megami Tensei/ATLUS game?

It is streamlined to hell. There are a crazy amount of flaws.
First off, the hallways in Tartarus are too wide, removing the risk/reward and decision making old Tartarus had when you were exploring it. There is no skill to fleeing anymore its easy as hell now.
No mechanics like being tired, reversing social links is really hard to pull off etc. it is just dumbed down a lot and simplified.

But my biggest gripe with it is honestly how there was basically nothing done to make Tartarus more engaging and yet people in the early days were on this weird agenda to say it is better to explore now. How? If anything it felt way more stale in Reload
Yeah, I was very fond of those aspects in the original. It was more immersive to me. Not being able to command your companions was so cool to me back then but everyone hated it lol

Could have stopped there, Persona 3 was not it for me and many people simply because of how Tartarus was designed. No Atlus, i do not want to climb 250 floors of... Basically the same thing.
Exactly, this was their chance to play around with Tartarus and make climbing 250 floors be more varied. I know they tried with the layouts but I mean this was their chance to make it a bit more like the Palaces from P5 except within Tartarus itself. Or at least the Full Moon operations. Just very eh to me, I got to around 80% and couldn't be bothered to finish the last 20%

Every Megaten game ever. I believe there are 7 interrelations of the series....even the pokemon ripoff.

SMT 3 and 2
Devil Survivor 1 and 2(haven't played the 3ds "remakes")
Persona 2(Duology)
Princess Crown

I haven't played many of them but I liked SMT IV and Strange Journey. I tried Persona 4 Golden but I just couldn't get into it.

Um...Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, I guess. Maybe Tactics Ogre?

I've been on a real tactical RPG kick lately, and these two GBA titles are the only ATLUS games I know of...

SMT: Nah fam, not my style. Maybe a Persona some day?

Atlus: Tie between Etrian Odyssey 3 and The Dark Spire. I am so grateful for the HD trilogy on Steam, now I might actually beat a blobber RPG EO3 some day!

Persona 4, my favorite game ever

Persona 4 - Wikipedia

Lunacy wasn´t developed by Atlus but they released it on america, truly an underrated and forgotten game.

Does Anybody Know Where I can Find a Rom for Lunacy On the Saturn? I checked Archive. : r/Roms

I got a softspot for the remake of the first Soul Hackers on 3DS. Found it was a good intro for the mechanics involved in other SMT games but without being overwhelming. Plus I was digging the 90's cyberpunk setting that its sequel didn't have.

Persona 5 Kart and Tactica 2 would've hit the spot. Maybe a gacha game would have too, oh, wait a second.
Next up: LEGO Persona 5. Feautring Dante from the Devil May Cry series.

On a more serious note, however, I'd have to pick SMT II as well. The SNES era was beautiful and really managed to encapsulate everything that made the NES games before it great—especially on the visual side. You just can't go wrong with Kaneko's art style, which I personally feel looks better when rendered in high-quality pixel art—even though the PS2 era obviously looks incredible as well.

Favorite SMT game is Nocturne.

Favorite ATLUS game is either PS1 Tactics Ogre OR Unicorn Overlord.

Haven't played much of Atlus' games but I really enjoyed Summon Night Swordcraft Story 1 and 2.
Wish Hajimemari no Ishii's translation was completed.(3rd Game)

Persona 4 is my favorite game of all Time, not only Atlus
But I would don't miss the chance to talk about Radiant Historia
That Game is awesome, a masterpiece

maaaan. dont make me choose my favorite child. i've got a real soft spot for smt if, that game has such a wicked atmosphere and i love the music to death. (seriously, the remix of the shibuya theme from smt 1 that they used for world of sloth kicks ass) it kind of feels like the majoras mask to smt2's ocarina of time, it uses the same engine, a lot of the same assets and music, but goes for a completely different type of gameplay and plot. it gets pretty rough in some spots (iykyk) but i still had a great time playing it.

What are the betting odds we'll see Digital Devil Saga duology on Switch 2?

I love the entire Etrian series but I have a soft spot for the first game. Untold made some mechanical and plot changes I wasn't too keen on so the HD release on PC was great new for me
