What's your favourite Shin Megami Tensei/ATLUS game?

Never finished it, doesn't feel like sh to me at all. Even outside of that the game play was meh and the story didn't hook me at all. Hbu?
I felt the same.

On an another note, im looking forward to playing SMT IV soon, after im done with what im currently completing, it's a game i've been waiting to play for quite some time now.

SMT/Persona: i have a triple tie between SMT II (Most developed of the SNES games, awesome story, and for fricking once you aren't railroaded into Neutral since all three endings have downs but still are wholesome for SMT standars) Nocturne (THE GAME of the main series, the one that introduced the mechanics that will become mainstrays and overall the most known) and 4:A (A great upgrade of 4 while being escencially Pokemon B/W 2, and a hot take, but i love the "Lighter" plot, also you get to defeat the final boss with your party pulling this

Regarding spinoffs: Demikids (Maybe easier, but that can make it a good level entry game) DDS duology and the Kyuukayu/Kyuuyaku remakes

Non SMT: Rockin Kats, cute little platformer, nowadays overshadowed, still a fun half-hour waster

I wish they'd port it already to modern platforms. Idk why they're so adverse to porting their shit. The last console they actually did it consistently was Ps3. Good luck with the play through man ::coolstafy

Edited the post for some context. While I've got SMT IV as well, the first time experiencing it was unpleasant (a la getting it when a very annoying cousin was around, spoiled the first dive into it, and later came to find out he stole my 3DS one night to play and bork my run overnight until the battery was drained out, and I forgot my charger going there). Despite trying to give it a chance after that debacle, it ended up lost in the flux of other games I had picked up at the time. EO IV didn't carry such a stigma.

I might try to do SMT IV again sometime later. The save file I had on it should still be where it is.

Smt IV and persona 5

I wish they would remake 4. They were cooking with that concept art.

Honestly with Persona Remakes-spam lately, and SMTV "failure" if the Fans demand it enough, we probably can get SMT III and IV remakes.

(Don't ask for I and II it definitely gonna be Persona I and II situation lol, atmost they probably gonna release that worldwide for modern hardware)

SMT5 just didn't click for me but it didn't fail though, sold quite a lot actually. Best selling mainline ever.

If we are going that route...

And those remakes will be jackshit like the concept art moonbits would like to see realized sadly.
P3R was lazy as hell and this new domain they bought for P4R is probably gonna be the same and they will tone down the living hell out of it I assume. I remember this exact thing when P3R was being developed people were hoping Tartarus in it would be more like the concept art too and with puzzles and all that.

okay mr negative here's my pitch
I walk into SEGA and convince the Ryu Ga Gotoku developers to work with Atlus to remake SMT. They have the tools, the geography, the skills. I lock Kenichi Tsuchiya in the music room until he makes 80 tracks and find Kazuma Kaneko in the flower field and ask him to draw Jack Frost.

Yeah that's why i put it on a quotes.

V and ViVi definitely didn't failed mainline wise (I mean it's not SH2 lol) but when you compare that to P5R alone for example, it obviously didn't compare at all.

And both V and ViVi bad reviews probably didn't help (Though Journalist likes this game so that's something)

Now that i put it like this, the chances of past SMT Games being remaked is kinda grim, like we deadass probably gonna get some sort of Sequel/Spin-Off hell even P4R before getting any mainline content for awhile.

But hell Surprise Me Atlus.

Atlus is bit busy trying to figure out Persona 6 since Studio Zero isn't quite involved.

Vincent is a major fuck-up but for some reason, I still want him to be happy.
Vincent is just a typical trainwreck but playing him depending on the route obviously you can tell he atleast trying to be better lol.

Honestly being negative is the last thing I want lol I was just very disappointed with P3R.
But your pitch sounds great, I think the Demon Summoning program I shall be uploading to GitHub soon shall aid us greatly!

I'm playing that at the moment and it isn't as bad as I expected but its quite easy. Like ridiculously easy even on Hard.

It is streamlined to hell. There are a crazy amount of flaws.
First off, the hallways in Tartarus are too wide, removing the risk/reward and decision making old Tartarus had when you were exploring it. There is no skill to fleeing anymore its easy as hell now.
No mechanics like being tired, reversing social links is really hard to pull off etc. it is just dumbed down a lot and simplified.

But my biggest gripe with it is honestly how there was basically nothing done to make Tartarus more engaging and yet people in the early days were on this weird agenda to say it is better to explore now. How? If anything it felt way more stale in Reload
