Manga what's your favorite manga of all time that doesn't have an anime ?

For me, probably Flunk Punk Rumble (Yankee-kun to Megane-chan). Reading that scanlation was a big part of my teen years. It got a Live Action but it's not nearly as good as the manga or as good as an anime adaptation could be. The fight scenes are too over the top for LA.

Currently I'm really Loving Maria's conviction/maria no danzai. About a Mother who's Son was Killed by Classmates, all I'll say, in-case someone want's to read it
written by Kazuki and illustrated by Junto Kamejima
Genre is Thriller Horror Contemporary

Not like a super-ultra favorite, but one I did really like: Sakura-Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura.

It's a shojo series by Arina Tanemura, but I thought it was really good. Only like two of her manga series have anime adaptions iirc.

As king of the niche and obscure, mine (which I am reading right now along with Medalist) is Akane-Banashi, which I hope and pray gets an anime soon, as I feel it has more than proved its worth.

I don't have the slightest interest in rakugo (one man comedy show), but I simply love this manga's smooth and clean artstyle. Every single chapter every week is peak storytelling. The characters are likable and relatable, and their development feels realistic, natural, and most importantly earned. Plus, as a writer myself, it has a lot of great lessons. Not just on how to improve and stay true to one's craft, but for life in general.

Plus these days I prefer stories with female heroines.

I don't read much manga, but I found one while looking for information on the Chainsaw Man movie.

Bloody Chainsaw Girl it's probably the greatest most batshit manga of all time and I love it. There are 3 live action movies that are wild

Crossbone Gundam is the one gundam manga that I'd love to see adapted to anime as it's probably my favourite post CCA piece of Gundam media. Also, Oyasumi Punpun but I doubt that they'd get the tone right and wouldn't want to see it's legacy tarnished.

Code Geass: Soubou no Oz, and Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya.
Some of the spin-offs/prequels for Great Teacher Onizuka.

Technically they have anime, but the second half of Akira was never adapted. Nor was the second half of Deadman Wonderland. Same with Ben-To beyond the first season. Same with Gunsmith Cats. Same with Bobobo-bo Bo-bo-bo.

Also a novel that got a manga adaptation, but no anime: All You Need Is Kill

Meteor Methuselah/Immortal Rain. Technically Please Save My Earth has an anime adaption but it's very condensed on only half way in it's 21 volume count. Now I need to get back into reading again now that I realize my list is too short to contribute.

Franken-Fran.
I don't think it needs an anime adaptation, though. They'd probably water it down.

Can NANA count? The whole second half of the manga never got animated.

Every time I read it, I get so emotional. It feels like the author, Ai Yazawa, wrote it specifically for me sometimes xD I relate so hard to both the NANA's, so reading through it can be quite tough some times lol.

To any other women out there, y'all need to do yourselves a favour and read this series. The author understands us.

I don't think Starving Anonymous has an anime.

Chi no Wadachi by Shuuzou Oshimi (Not Happening) Oyasumi Punpun (not happening either) and the Legend of Zelda mangas by Akira Himekawa

Lone Wolf and Cub is so good
I've read a bit of Good Night Punpun and I'm curious about it.

20th century boys
it DOES have a pretty fun live action adaptation tho

for me it's probably Magical Pokemon Journey, and Pokemon Adventures. I appreciate that pokemon at large has representation in the world of anime - but these manga series hit very different.

A shojo pokémon exist!?
