what's your favorite castlevania game?

Mine is Aria Of Sorrow, i just like how Soma moves and the way you progress the game, it's a lot more linear and intuitive than SOTN and it has better weapons imo.
Castlevania Chronicles has the coolest set pieces, best music, two different game modes, multiple switchable soundtracks, and redhead Simon. It's an absolute crime this has never left the PS1, this should've been in the original collection given that it's a port of the X68000 game and is a remake of the original Castlevania.

SOTN and Rondo of Blood as a double feature. I didn’t grow up with the series and only played most of them for the first time last year and these two still blew me away. I’ve not completed the entire series yet but the gba and ds titles are pretty enjoyable although they’re starting to feel samey. I didn’t quite get the appeal of IV and prefer the style and fluid gameplay of Bloodlines overall, but I’ll probably be in the minority here.
Simon‘s Quest was interesting too. Very flawed and the cryptic nonsense would have made it a pain to play through without occasional help from a walkthrough but it had some fascinating ideas. I could see early traces of the SOTN formula in there.

Castlevania 4: Demon , a chinese title for old 320x240 (s40) keypad phones:

Bloodlines (MD), Rondo of Blood (PCE CD), Symphony of the Night (PS1), and the GBA and DS trilogies (though they need improvement patches).
they do

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.
i played it and didn't really like it, i remember it being very slow paced, but that could be just me

i like SOTN but it just lacks so much, like the bosses do not feel special and the enemies are a pain in the rear

possibly. everyone is going to like one game more than the others. circle of the moon was the first one that i saw, owned, played and beat; so it's my favorite because of that.
