Years later I beat this game with the help of Gamefaqs and an emulator. I don't see how anyone beat it without a walkthrough honestly. But NES games were built different.

Oof, yeah. At least you don't have AI Rapha making a suicide charge, but getting all Elmdore's equipment is such a pain in the ass. I forgot he had Blade Grasp and Teleport 2. Blood Suck isn't fun either. If you can nuke his speed with a knight, things get a lot easier, but with a 20% chance to steal it will take a long time. x)
