What's a game everyone loves but you don't like it?

It's not that I don't like it, but I just couldn't get into Bloodborne the same way I love all the other souls games, but I'll probably give it another chance if we ever get 60fps

@Adrastia
I also hate escort games but in the case of ICO it is much easier to use this mechanic, in the moments where you have to defend your companion it is best not to chase the enemies but wait for them to get to you.
Give the game a chance, believe me, compared to other games with that mechanic, this one is more bearable.

A retro game I would say most beat em ups, not that the genre is bad I just never got used to the kind of camera of that genre.

Contemporary games I would say that Minecraft doesn't call my attention and Hollow Knight didn't convince me even though I'm a fan of metroidvanias.

i just couldn't get into halo and the yakuza series.
i played halo 1 thru 3 plus reach and i just don't get it. i didn't like the characters and the story as a whole :< for yakuza i stg i tried to play yakuza 0 like 5 times and i just can't get past the first hour or so. it just doesn't "speak" to me

FF7. 5.6.8.9.10 much much better stories and charters.

Witcher 1 and 2. 3 was great but one and 2 just pain in the ass and not fun to play.

Assassin creed and MSG both series to me is boring and the type of games I hate stealth because they never work that well. You are discovered to easily or the AI is broken and so on.

Bloodborn way to damn easy and boring bosses and such a dressing environment.

Then also all pvp focused games like Lol or dota and apex and so on such boring stale games but then again I never felt the need win over others so badly.

Dragon age 2, 3 and 4 just pure crap the first game was a one hit wonder and then it just went down hill sure 2 is decent but compared to first game nah man.

death stranding most boring game I ever played and so damn weird.

Resident evil 7 and 8 they are not resident evil anymore they are more silent hill than resident evil they are not bad games but no fan of them.

Now that you mention it, I couldn't get into the Witcher. It's so bad, specially 1, talk about old and obsolete PC game design.

Any of the Persona games. I like dungeon crawlers but do they have to be so annoyingly wrapped up with nonsense?

What nonsense would be that? And the first 3 games (1 and the 2 duology) are not like the modern ones. Although the dungeon crawling can get tiresome in old Persona.

The crazy disco dancing stuff, being in classrooms for so long, the dialogue that never seems to end, etcetera. I'll be honest, I didn't delve deep into any of the games because this sort of thing turned me off. I did go a bit into some and you have to flatter demons, or else, piss them off. Cut all that nonsense out of it and maybe the actual dungeon crawl might be entertaining.

So you started playing in the "student life sim" era. Try if you want old persona games, they're nothing like 3 and upwards. Specially the 2 duology "Innocent sin" and "Eternal Punishment". Pretty much all adults on those ones.

look I like this game but not to the same level as everyone else seems to adore it, so don't kill me for it.
Hollow Knight's map design sucks and I'm tired of acting like it's good. World building and gameplay are top notch, but as a Metroidvania, I've always hated the way the map flows together, it feels not that fun to traverse. I genuinely think it would've been better as like a level to level kind of game.

Gonna have to disagree with you, here
And about Skyrim. I could give a fuck less about Kingdom Hearts apart from 1, 2, and Chain of Memories.
::nervous-prinny
Give me your open-world Zeldas, your Persona 4s and your Skyrims; I will give them the adequate love they deserve.

Grand Theft Auto. I don't think the series is bad or anything. You don't break sales records for being mid. It's just that the series isn't for me and I've tried getting into it with GTA IV and V. I don't find the stories to be as interesting and the gameplay doesn't appeal to me. I do think the characters are funny and there's a lot of well written moments, but overall I think I just prefer other types of games. I usually hold this belief when it comes to large sandbox games as a whole because I run out of things to come up with or do.

I think it has the success it does 'cause its pretty accessible and lets you act on the intrusive thoughts.
Love the DDS joker PFP LOL.

That's pretty much what I did. Maybe the older ones are better. That's usually the case.

On, GTA, I agree with the guy who posted that. Not replying directly because It's quoted with other posts. The games are fun for a while at the start. They get your blood pressure up too much when trying to complete the missions deeper into the games. A bit too lewd for my taste but I can see how I could have gotten sucked in if I played them younger. Really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption, though. More chilled out.

All of From Software games and Lies of P. Not because of the difficulty (I've played harder games) but I'm not a big fan of their dark fantasy nature. Happy endings are actually a big motivator for me to play a game.

Definitely Skyrim, Oblivion, all the Dark Souls games, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I actually love Morrowind- it has that crazy vibe of "labor of love made by programmers tweaked outta their minds on Adderrall" with the lore and the setting being more interesting than any other Elder Scrolls game and the gameplay being that actually fun and hella exploitable jankiness that few other games (the GTA series being some more of them) can pull off. On the other hand, I really tried to like Oblivion (especially because Shivering Isles look really cool) for a long time but I found the gameplay loop super boring. I feel like most of the weapons and enemies are not impactful enough, they just don't feel that great to use. Same thing with Skyrim, but on a greater scale because I quit within the first 45 minutes of that one whereas I actually beat Oblivion in the end.

Dark Souls is tedious as hell. Even if I find the lore and the setting super cool, if I have to sit there and slap the first boss on its ass fifty-billion times while circle strafing to get it to die or just run away, that's boring. That's not good from an RPG perspective because even the satisfaction one gets IRL from killing a supertough boss is dampered because the tactics you have to use are just boring as hell, and it's not good from survival horror perspective because I don't feel the rush you get from evading a monster that you can barely fight back against, because you can defeat it if you are patient enough. I am most certainly not. I can't think of a single boss from Resident Evil or Silent Hill that is that tedious and boring of a boss battle. Bloodborne, on the other hand, actually does that kind of incredibly difficult, highly rewarding rogue-ishness right while simultaneously having combat that is fast paced, fun and can still kick your ass if your not careful.

The first Animal Crossing is probably my favorite life simulation type game. I think it's because it has collectathon elements along with shopping and house you can decorate, plus far more interactivity compared to, say, The Sims, as when your character is gaming or fishing or chopping wood or whatever your at least pressing a button more often instead of listening to a humanoid mutant speak gibberish while watching TV. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has crafting on the other hand. So much crafting to get anything done that I fucking hate it.

Super Mario 64, hands down. I mean, I love Mario games. Was a huge fan since NES times. But something about Super Mario 64 just turned me away. The camera, level design, and all those "invisible walls"—I just found it very unpleasant. Which is funny, since I love both Zelda games on N64. Also, if PlayStation 3 can be considered retro, the whole Uncharted series. I mean, those are good games, but with all the long talks, I just found them way too boring. Those kinds of games make me wonder why I'm holding a gamepad instead of a pizza slice, if you know what I mean :->

Hmm. From has many different games, while I agree on the Dark Souls/Elden Ring series, as I have Souls fatigue, Bloodborne and Lies of P are not dark fantasy. Have you tried sekiro? It's an action game, the latest Armored Core(6) it's a mecha action game too. But I have no recommendations on the happy ending part LOL.

Hollow Knight. Just felt really bland and boring, just another metroidvania game that doesn't push the medium further or introduce any noteworthy stuff. The art direction is superb though, but I don't think aesthetics carry the game enough for me.
