What would you declare as "The Worst Game" on any given platform?

The whole Majin Tensei subseries (of which Ronde is the last one) isn't very good. 2 had a lot of potential, with great aesthetics and that cool '90s SMT vibe, but it's the most unbearably slow SRPG I've ever played, which completely kills it.

Sonic 1 on DS would only be Sonic Classic Collection, but that game also contains Sonic 2 and all versions of Sonic 3

Fair point, I'd still pick Free Riders over Forces any day though. 0 effort went into that game. Doesn't respond well to the hardware, cutscenes are a little more evolved than 3DS Sonic Generations, story is a story all right, and the music is forgettable with it's only real saving grace being Free. Not to mention it killed Sonic Riders.

Which makes no sense considering how well he played in Generations. Something must've happened during development (like losing the code or something).

I think I remember hearing that most of the development time on the game didn't actually go to the game itself but rather the new engine, hence why levels are so short, story so messy and Classic Sonic probably being a last minute addition due to Sonic Mania. Take that with a grain of salt but I 100% can definitely guess Classic Sonic being terrible had something to do with Mania. Mania was probably developed alongside it and they made the call to connect the two vastly different games, which is why Sonic Mania ties into Forces to begin with and the Phantom Ruby being the big thing in Forces that got shafted in the confusing plot. Wouldn't be the first time corporate meddling caused some baffling changes to a Sonic game (it's actually one of the things that sabotaged Sonic Boom, I recommend looking into all the concepts that Rise of Lyric had)

Ronde is the worst smt to be made, terrible "combat" and story. With the most dogshit music. Although there's other games in the series that I can say the same for (persona 3 & 5).

I lowk hope the rumour that Ronde being so shit that Atlus had to refund people is true because that would be so funny. Just like I also hope Atelier Lise being called Atelier Freeze from how often the first version crashed on DS is real

sk 3: i don't like the choose which character you want to play. i don't like the battle, it's slow.i don't like the graphic. and then there's the duck. the story is so serious and then we have talking disney duck in there with no pants. wtf?

sk 5: this is how i remember it. cut scene. loading screen. cut scene. loading screen. cut scene. loading screen. cut scene. loading screen. cut scene. walk for a little bit. loading screen cut scene. loading screen. walk for a little bit. loading screen. cut scene. loading screen. walk for a little bit. cut scene. loading scene. now you can battle for a little bit. cut scene. loading screen. cut scene. a lot of walking and cut scene and loading screen a battle and walking and loading screen and then the guy that you're looking for is not in the building and the guy there told you to talk to everyone in the building. holy sh*t! go to reddit, go to gamefaq, and the guys there told you the game will get good after the first 10 hours. nah f*ck that!

A lot of PS2 RPGs suffer from being extremely slow, it's the curse of that generation. Being able to (or being expected to) animate everything led to slow-ass battles, the scripts got bloated, etc. There's still some good stuff, but I find a lot of PS2 RPGs just aren't for me compared to the 16 and 32-bit days.

I *almost* admire that they basically treat mobile suits like a game of World of Tanks, but holy shit they were allergic to fun with this. (Also, ruthless monetization schemes, but that practically goes without saying with F2P games).

I thought I was the only one, God I tried so damn much to get some sort of enjoyment out of it and make the game fun but it's like it was designed NOT to be fun...

Oh, I beat the game. I owned it, and I knew it was supposed to be Dragonball, the whole reason I picked it up in the first place. After learning that it sucked, I forced myself to become good enough to get through it, but it still wasn't worth it, and I don't think I've beaten it since I was a kid.

I’ll possibly get shit for this, I’ve got no idea if the game has defenders, but Clu Clu Land. I’ve embarked on the adventure of trying all the games on NSO and I hate the control scheme of Clu Clu Land. I can see why people would like it but damn.

My mind quickly goes to ET on Atari 2600, but that seems kind of obvious and I've only ever played it on an emulator.

The worst game I ever owned was probably Star Wars Attack of The Clones on Game Boy Advance, a platformer/beat 'em up based on the movie. There's a lot of licensed shovelware on that system, so it's no shock that this also ended up in that pile. There were some moderately impressive technical elements about it like 3D vehicle levels and stills from the movie but it was overall pretty sluggish and just not fun to play. The lack of a save battery meant you had to endure all the tedious nonsense in one go to see the ending, it was the only GBA game I ever owned without a save function.
