What retro game are you currently playing?

EGG for the Dreamcast. I have no idea why I passed it up so many times. The artwork truly shows the beautiful Saturn Era of RPGs at its finest. In some parallel universe 2d kept gaming GOOD.

Im playing Road Rash 2 and zero tolerance on a Sega Nomad , in my Playstation Classic Mini im playing Battlemania and some playstation 1 games like Final Doom(yeah i know, but i love that eerie music) and on Switch 2 im replaying metal gear solid 1 . good times to be a retrogamer.

Playing this classic, also tactics ogre from psp. Or maybe I also try some of the old version.

Castlevania 1 and Mega Man Battle network 3 blue
(Something TF2 or quake 2)

Just finished Gauntlet: Dark Legacy on the PS2 today. I had a blast playing through it \o\
My next Retro Game is... Idk, probably JSR again xD

Airforce Delta Strikes a.k.a Deadly Skies III PS2

It is a discovery of the year for me. Did you know air combat RPG exists out there? I never did. I only played some flight sim on NES before, though.

If you love anime Macross or 86 or Galactic Heroes and you’d like to add few drops of essence from Top Gun and Star Wars movies, this is it.

At some point choose which character you’d like to scramble on a mission, each of them has their own jets with different specifications and armaments. There are variety of missions with hostile futuristic weird machinery, not only good old dogfights. You can “grind” on standby missions to get some cash to buy more advanced equipment. And of course talk to NPC and your squad mates, dialogues depend you current character and progress.

Graphics and sound are superb even for PS2. Soundtracks are not in variety, but tunes are catchy. I really like cinematic replay camera after the mission, it definitely looks like a movie footage if you look on TV screen from distance even without fancy shaders.

Controls were a bit weird for me at first, there is no natural physics as I understand how it should be, but you can easily do cool tricks like airbrake and crazy spins to avoid missiles locked on you.

Fantastic game. Screenshot is not mine.

I just started Shadow Hearts too, I saw a list talking about it's monster designs and knew I needed to tap in immediately.
Nice! It's pretty linear, but I think it totally rules tbh. ::hellmo

The combat-wheel feels really ahead of its time, and the cast is so fun and bizarre! It's just so different, even from anything that came after it. How're you finding it, so far?

I had almost no idea what to expect but I think I was thoroughly hooked as soon as I walked out of the shrine in Zhaoyang Village, I really didn't expect the whole game to be so spooky and to so perfectly blur the line between almost cartoonish Halloween-y spookiness and genuine serious horror, it's so cool!

Unfortunately I haven't gotten to play too too much but I've been thinking about it and also listening to the soundtrack when I draw lol.

I also usually don't really like super linear jrpgs but I feel like everything about it otherwise makes up for that for me.

Lunar 2, it was inaccessable to me for the longest time that I used to fantasize about playing it for the longest time. I'm finally playing it and it's every bit as good as I hoped it would be. <3

I rotate the many games I have, but currently on Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes II, Clockwork Knight, Castlevania: Circle Of The Moon, Super Mario 64 and Crazy Taxi.

Have beaten Splatterhouse 2010 last few days and for a very flawed game it still rocks !

Now i revisit the original RE2 and RE3 . I've played them back then in 2022 . I've got lately this urge to play games with tank controls again . Cant explain why . ::thinking

Oni (2001). Might reinstall GTA 3 too so i can try out this new mod:

Changeable Guardian Estique! My favorite Horizontal shmup on the NES bar none.
My favorite vertical one is Gun Nac, horizontal this one now, it's just so relaxing and smooth.
