What kind of arcade game are you the best at?

Chunithm, Ongeki Bright Memory and Wacca.

I fuck with Pop’n Music HEAVY but for the life of me can’t perfect it, that game is fucking HARD.

Fighting Games for sure. I used to play competitively in locals and regionals. 1CCing MK2 and doing combos while I do it is a party trick of mine. I'm pretty OK at Shmups and Beat Em Ups too.

I'm not terrible at ddr no bar. I can full combo nearly any song on standard and occasionally do doubles.

I’m pretty good at Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, Rayforce, Crazy Taxi and Metal Slug X because I played them all excessively on consoles.
There’s also a fairly forgettable shmup named thunder dragon 2 that I’m quite good at. It was the most accessible game at yifan‘s arcade in Auckland New Zealand when I was living there so I got a lot of practice. Rip Yifan‘s btw

TMNT Turtles in Time, Simpsons arcade, X-Men arcade. Sure beat'em ups are bs because of poor hit detection and cheap bosses, but I found a trick on beating them.

Capcom(-style) fighting games and Robotron!

Some fighting games like King of fighters or Metal slug 1 / X ( still can't 1CC but i'm closer every try )

I’m so bad at arcade games but I love them all so much. The best way to get good is to get experience. To literally just play the game over and over until you get really good at it.

That said POWER STONE BABY! I WILL BEAT EVERYBODY AT THAT GAME! I’M WINNING EVERY TIME! YOU ALL BETTER FEAR MY ROUGE! ITS OVER FOR EVERYONE! /j

There is this Putt-Putt course in a town next to mine, and they used to have an arcade as well, they took it out a couple years back but as a kid I wasted so many quarters trying to beat Metal Slug 2 and 3. In the modern day if I really try I can no death both games within like 2 hours. So I'd say those two specific games.

None. I'm absolutely atrocious at any arcade game.

I like the ones with butts on em.

I would say DDR but I've basically only played that on keyboard sooo, I'm going with beatmania. (don't have the controller for that either but hey, playing on a ps1 dualshock can't be that different to a proper AC beatmania deck!)

Totally forgot racing games, how could I forget those! (actually played some with a wheel this time too)

Light gun games. It's not even close, I'm bad at pretty much every type of arcade game (except Tetris) but I appear to be an incredible shot. Pretty much every Time Crisis, Virtua Cop and House of the Dead cabinet in my city that I've come across has my name in the high score.

I'm good with beat-em-up games; they were always my automatic go-to growing up. I would love to make a cabinet with all the games from that genre.

Games like RayStorm
Games like Marvel vs Capcom
Games like Time Cop
... and Pinball

Beat-'em-ups too. I guess they're simplest genre to be good at, though I find most people don't realize there a little nuances to them that can improve your play. In single-player, it's all about crowd control and boss strategies. I like light gun games but never got to play any one of them in particular enough to really get good. I feel like I could have other wise. Played a lot of Virtua Cop at home, but with a regular controller (really wished I'd had a light gun), and mostly House of the Dead at the arcades. Love 3D fighters, but I'm mid at them. Beat a few shmups through persistence, but not good at them either. I'm pretty good at old-school side-scrollers like Shinobi though.

I already replied to this thread, but I must say: I forgot about how much I play Dig Dug 2.

Specifically 2.

The Namco Classics. Been playing them since I was a kid. Though, I wouldn't say I am a master at them.

Samurai Shodown III and IV.
Captain America and the Avengers.
Street Fighter Alpha 2.
Tekken 5.

Wait, it's possible to be good at arcade games? :o I'd say I'm best at fighting games, but mainly Mortal Kombats and Soul Caliburs. Even then I usually lose to many players, though I try to put up a good fight. I've yet to really get into Tekken, Street Fighter, and so on. I still have no idea how I haven't played a Bloody Roar yet.

Otherwise, I think I'm okay at Centipede and Dig-Dug? The Namco classics are legendary and a ton of fun, but I can't get much farther than a couple levels at most of them. I used to be dece at Galaga when I had Namco Museum on the N64, getting to around 10 levels in IIRC, but those skills atrophied hard over years of neglect.
