What kind of arcade game are you the best at?

Some shumps I guess, fighting games? Not so much. Beat em up? Hell yeah!

Beat 'em up arcade games for me, since they rely more on skill to succeed and are less likely to hit you with bullshit like light gun games can. I dare you to look at Carnevil and tell me it wasn't designed to be impossible to avoid taking damage.

I dunno man, beat'em up bosses can be ridiculously cheap. God bless MAME and infinite credits.

Gals Panic series.
I won't add anything else; the images speak for themselves. ?

Beat em up games can be full of bullshit.

I can (probably should say "could" as I haven't played it for a while) 1CC Final Fight on hard but the game is designed to eat your quarters in an unfair way.
Aside from some ennemies having unreactable and high damaging attacks, the fact that your crash attack is deactivated for a few frames after getting up means you have zero defensive options if an enemy hits you at that moment. Which is absolute bullshit considering the damage of some ennemies.

It's one of my favorite beat em up but boy can it be dirty, and learning to play it usually boils down to learning to get around the bullshitness (like strategies for dealing with the bosses, aside from the first one you're better of using specific tactics).
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if the crash attack was added when they playtested the game and realized how impossible it is as you can get killed in a swift combo or put in a situation where you can't get out.

Turtles in time arcade is also a good example with the time bomb the game sends you if you do too good and the game is all about getting around it's bullshit (like the ennemies' invul frames after hitstun which forces you to delay your attacks to actually combo, or abuse the shoryu attack to get out of shitty situations, which is 90 % of the game if you don't know it well enough to prevent getting turtle handed by an insane army of foots)

Have you played Lady Killer ?
Nah, never seen it in an arcade. I actually played gals panic 2 and 3: the first one has anime babes, the other two have real women. Welp, I didn't have the courage to post the relevant photos, since I'm already walking a tightrope here, and someone jealous of my success (?) could take the opportunity to report me. ?

I’ve had the high score in Tetris ‘88 at my local arcade for a while. I’m also quite good at Ice Cold Beer by Taito!

I really wish I liked fighters and beat em ups more. Streets of rage titles have LEGENDARY OSTs (Spin on the Bridge? Come ON), and the fighting game scene looks so fun. I’m just not that type of competitive, or maybe it’s bc I’m not skilled at them. I kind of want to practice Marvel VS Capcom 2 bc my arcade has a GREAT cab for it and Servbot is cute

I also must remember that there is no "H" in Goblins.
I think you'll find that Goblins and H go together like bread and butter, especially in the seedier parts of the Internet.

I used to hold court on a Soul Calibur II cabinet back in the day. Felt good to be on the machine for hours not having to pay, because people kept coming for the crown and missing.

I'm not really good at any one type of arcade game in particular but if I had to pick one I'd say SHMUPs.

Atomic Punk 2 / New Atomic Punk: Global Quest / Bomberman World / New Dynablaster: Global Quest

Hot damn this had so many aliases? Anyway it plays like Bomberman but on arcade.
