What is your views related to Pirating?

Pirating a game can be like a free trial, to check out if you like the game or not. I did that a couple of times. Probably the best example is Armored Core 6 Which i just fell in love with. Completed pirated version for all three endings and then bought the game and completed another 6 times, that's how much i loved it.

But i digress. Technically speaking you dont buy programs as is, like a car or a house, just a lisence. But what trend im seeing nowadays is that subscription models are being showed EVERYWHERE. And any of the stuff you buy isnt your property according to big corpo.

if that is not a scam I do not know what is.
pyramid schemes maybe

But please, give money to indie devs if the game is good.
the thing is. i don't pirate games because of some philosophical allignment... i just pirate the ones i cant afford lol

AAA games also take a while to make and buying them does pay developers. i buy what i can afford, that's it

So far I've only pirated Deadlight, World of Goo and Rogue Legacy
you've only pirated 3 games? like in your LIFE?

I must have pirated over a thousand games... from buying multi carts for the SNES in the 90s all the way to today

Killing isn't murder

Nintendo: The digital future...

Sony: Will always belong...

Microsoft: To us....

Pirates: *takes a mighty chug of rum* ....nay, it belongs to us.

Pay your house subscription!!

I love spiders 🕷 ::angrygenjin
I do too, but not just any spider, tarantulas.

I had a rose-haired tarantula that lived to be seven years old. She had a house made out of half a coconut, and ate crickets every day (with the occasional random bug I'd find outside)

Tarantulas are cool. They aren't scary. They chill in thier coconut, come out every once in a while to eat a bug, then go back in their house to chill. Tarantulas are the only spider that doesn't freak me out despite them being big af. In fact, my tarantula, Rosy, NEVER BIT ME, even though she still had fangs. Ugh, I swear, spiders get a bad rap just because they have a buncha legs.

Most independent games are sold at a lower price and are often in sales for a good bargain in the main PC platforms.

I don't really care if you pirate games I do it myself but I think this "actually I'm morally good for pirating games" attitude people have is really stupid and unhealthy. If you wanna steal stuff that's fine just don't lecture people on morality when you do it.

I don't really see pirating games as a morally good or bad area. Sure, I.P. holders would argue that as well as lawyers and judges, but let's take a game like Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines for PC. That's been out of print for 20 or so years.

Yes, I know you can get a GOG version of it, but I mean a physical copy. I have seen just the disc go for, before GOG, about 50 USD, let alone the CIB one, which could have been be 300-500 USD. Scalper prices have dropped due to GOG, but this is just one game. A lot of games aren't on GOG and can't be acquired now by any other means than pirating them. And I see no harm in that.

NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, etc. games? Same rules apply. There's nothing wrong with pirating them.
I don't care if the multi-billion dollar companies are re-selling them again for the 30th time on whatever new console they have, overcharging for them. And as for pirating itself? Look, if I am pirating the game, I was never going to buy it in the first place, with some exceptions I actually have due to liking the game.

The point is, don't pirate brand new games, you'll get caught. That's dumb.
For 10+ year old games, I say pirate your little black hearts out, to quote Jack Sparrow.

Yea, piracy isn't stealing. People/SOCIETY just call it theft as a moral equivalence.

I would certainly download a car. In fact, I am doing it right now.
The worst part of this old joke is that people will probably be pirating car software now that companies are bricking/limiting your car's performance/functionality based on software.

Did they take Ferrari's attitude and tune it up to 11?

I'm not even talking about intentionally bricking something, though I believe that's happened. The more cars depend on software, the more problems you'll have that are linked to software, and the more there'll be a side-distribution of that software people need for their cars to work properly.
I believe I've come across some cases from following Louis Rossmann, but I don't remember any particular case.

It's more of intellectual property and copyright violation.

UMPiracy was part of my country's experience with the PS2, which was easy to unlock to play pirated games and DVD movies.
