So, you like adventure games. Yes, I know things like 999 and AA are called VNs here, but ADVs are a different thing in practice.

I really enjoy VNs and find them relaxing. Old visual novels from the 80s into the 2000s were mostly made by small teams and indie devs (especially the 80s-90s) and I like their charm.

my repertoire when it comes to vns is unfortunately very poor, but the few i did read that weren't nukige (saya no uta, the question arcs of higurashi when they cry, hopeless junction, danganronpa 2(this was when i was like 13 tbf)) were usually some of the best things i have ever experienced.

also hearing that the tsukihime tl was dogshit (which apparently is why it seems to have such clumsy writing at times) was part of why i started learning japanese (i gave up on it for the time being, but am still planning to resume sooner or later)

I bought a Switch mainly just because they seem to have exclusivity deals with a few VN publishers (mainly otome). As soon as I finish that list I'll stop supporting Nintendo and focus more on a few Steam titles I've been ignoring, just looking that library alone I have 137 titles that register with the tag Visual Novel and a few indies purchased on itch....
Too many stories to read not enough time. That being said I love a good story and will do what I can to read them, all genres are welcomed. From cheesy, to horror, to crime, to historical romances, and science fiction.

I'll be completely honest: I ignore those aspects. I try my best not to think about it, because nothing good comes from how the games treat either of those girls. Since I assume you're talking about how unsympathetic UDG was to a certain character in particular. A friend of mine-

There are audio and visual aspects that enhance it. It's a different experience than reading a book, because books don't have background music or character sprites or the like. You can't enhance a scene by playing music and displaying art that shows what it's like.

Everything about Kotoko Utsugi makes me so fucking angry and miserable, and the way Kodaka wrote Chihiro's Arc is just awful.

there's definitely some VNs i know friends are into that i ought to read, particularly Umineko which i grabbed on sale recently, but that one's a hell of a commitment and i'm always putting off plenty of other things first.
