Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom Hearts 2

The funny story is that I didnt have a PS2 (obviously) and when I open these Christmas gifts with my brother I was afraid my parents made a mistake and got us some PlayStation 2 games when we had a GameCube (we where already on the 360/Wii/PS3 gen), but then we open "the big box" and there is was my shiny silver PS2..

Your story with the PS2 is very good, and both games you mentioned are good, especially Kingdom Hearts II, which is wonderful.

I don’t care very much about the rest of the series, but the first Kingdom Hearts game will forever hold a dear place in my kingdom heart.

I love how it feels like something a child could’ve made up, and how much it kind of thematically resembles those 80s American children’s fantasy movies like Neverending Story or Labyrinth and whatnot, albeit with a Japanese style.

Yeah @JellyjamLu I loved all NAMCO racing games; give this one a try: for being the first RR for the new PS generation, it was great (and when I played it the first time, it also reminded me of the good old original Ridge Racer)

For me, since my older brother got a ps2 on launch, it was tekken tag tournament. It's easily the best of the launch titles for me. It kind of reminded me of an anniversary style game like SNK did with KOF 98. We should be due a tekken tag tournament 3 after tekken 9.

PS2 was a truly great era though, probably when the ratio of good to shit games was at it's most favourable. So many truly great games came out each season almost, for most of it's lifecycle.

The Tekken Tag Tournament on PS2 is a great game and at the same time a great port of the Arcade version.

The only NFS game i finished playing is Hot Pursuit 2 and Prostreet.
While GTA it's GTA III,VCS and LCS

I understand the point, and I'm glad to completed some of those NFS and GTA games.

I got God of War and Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (sadly, sparking neo).... before i got a Ps2. To be fair, i had the idea that my parents wanted to give me one but had no idea when (a year later)

I remember saving money from school food just to buy some games returning home. Miss those days

I used to rent back then, paying per hour at the local mall, they even sold me one of the memory cards because I had a bunch of saves and the shop was closing for good anyway.
I got a PS2 just to play KH.

I've played the original DMC once and it's okay but I haven't played the 3rd DMC Installment but it looks amazing.

You should play it. Its improvements compared to DMC1 are huge, especially after the disappointing DMC2.

Unfortunately my first PS2 game was The Bouncer.

I figured new system, new Square game, it was hyped more than anyother game ever, so how could there be any issues? How wrong I was, the game was terrible.

I played Kingdom Hearts on both 1 and 2 once and they're pretty cool.

My first PS2 game was Final Fantasy X. Being only into Nintendo up until I got my PS2, FFX was my first real experience with Final Fantasy! (and I never beat it because it was too hard for me back then. lol. And then I lent it to a acquaintance, never to be seen again...)

Without a doubt one of the best games in the Final Fantasy series, along with PS1's Final Fantasy IX.
