Like many here, it was the NES. Got it as a hand me down from my aunt mostly because her kids didn't play it. I didn't get the box but I think it was the Action Set considering it came with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt with the zapper and two controllers.

The first game system that was ever bought for me though was the SNES.

What matters is that you had a Nintendo Super console where you were playing with Super Power.

Both Super Mario World and Contra III are very good games and you were playing with Power, Super Power.

I should also consider the SNES in alternative, but it was more borrowed (and then disappeared smh. Just like this GB as well ).

It might count because it's basically a Famicom/NES but cloned on a single chip in terms of hardware and software.

funny thing, my mom thinks every console is "el Nintendo".

Sega Genesis, Playstation 1, XBOX whatever always "apaga el Nintendo, y vete a dormir!" lol.

I guess I'm gonna necro this post but my best friend's mom when I was in high-school always called me Playstation Chris. I brought my PS1 over to their house a couple times to play FFVII. And when ever I brought over the N64 it was "Playstation Chris bringing his Playstation again."

Anyways my first Personal Nintendo console was the Purple GameBoy pocket and home console was the aforementioned Nintendo 64.

I was 3 or 4, it was nearly Christmas and I had already shown an interest in video games even at a young age. Outside of JCPenny they had some clearance items for the holiday, and there was a Super Nintendo which got me excited. My parents decided it was time and so they split up taking me and my sister somewhere else while the other bought it and hid it in the car. I still have that Super Nintendo and it's the console I've played most 30+ years later.
