Gameboy/Gameboy color, Nintendo 64 and GameCube.

my first actual hardware was a Gameboy color i also gotten a GBA DS and a 2DS.

i didn't have a console until the Gamecube i did pick up a Wii later on (i did search for a model that played Gamecube games as well) and in 2020 i gotten a switch lite (was more desiring the portability and lower cost than the base switch)

Mine was the N64, though I was too young to appreciate it at the time.
My first Nintendo console in memory is the GBA.

Technically a hand-me-down original GameBoy, but my first that was mine was the N64 specifically the Episode 1 Racer edition like this one:

Super Nintendo.

And to this day, I still think it was the best home console ever. Mega Drive comes close, though... But Snes has more fighting and rpg games, which I like. A larger library, overall.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses. In particular I'd say the SNES really lags behind the Mega Drive/Genesis in multiplayer experiences. All three Streets of Rage titles are multiplayer, Final Fight 1 is not. Sonic 2 and 3 have a vs mode and player 2 can control Tails in the main game, Mario and Luigi always had to play separately and the Kongs took turns. Dashin' Desperados, Gunstar Heroes, Herzog Zwei, Bonanza Bros. Mega Bomberman was better than Super Bomberman, Micro Machines had the J-Carts for 4 player mode.

Also, at least internationally, it crushed the SNES in tactics games. Two Shining Force titles and Warsong compared to the Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre, and Front Mission all just getting left in Japan.

It's gotta be the Wii, not only do you got the bevy of excellent games that liter it's library (No More Heroes, Fragile Memories, Mad World), you also can mod it to play GBA, SNES, Gamecube, that four banger systems on one little console that could. The only downside is that it runs N64 games like dogshit, but N64 games have always been hard to run on anything besides the console itself.

Game Boy Advance SP (handheld) and Wii (home console). I used to play Sonic Advance 3, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Kirby's Dreamland and Pokemon Yellow. for the Wii, I remember playing Wii Sports and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic games.

And as a curiosity is also that the Nintendo GameCube was given to me by my Family for having earned good grades in School and that I was in the 1st Grade back in 2007 and as they say out there: With Effort, Yes There Is Reward.

and also that my dad bought me 3 games although they were pirated they were still original games like Mario Kart: Double Dash, Super Smash Bros. Melee and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Although over time my dad kept buying me more gamecube games over time until 2009 when they were the Metroid Prime and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003).

UmA clear example is the PS2, which, as it was being sold, was unaffordable because the salary was lower; you had to work five months' worth of jobs.

Like many here, it was the NES. Got it as a hand me down from my aunt mostly because her kids didn't play it. I didn't get the box but I think it was the Action Set considering it came with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt with the zapper and two controllers.

The first game system that was ever bought for me though was the SNES.
