What is the worst SEGA game?

I notice my pick for worst Sega game is now on the front repository page... I dare anyone who hasn't played it yet to not turn it off even less than halfway through the 1st stage

...but I notice ZiLLion is there, which is a briLLiant metroidvania. GameFAQs labels it 2D platformer, n labels Impossible Mission (the game that ZiLLion 1 took after) the same. that's complete lazy or deLuded buLLshit - but it happens. n oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, IT HAPPENSSSSSSSSS xD

Eh Ecco the Dolphin has good graphics and controls and the sound is good the problem is the collection detection is fucked up after the first level and how freaking hard the game is.

Is still nowhere the wost Sega game ever made, even if you exclude ports.

Anyone remembers that Altered Beast Gameboy Advance game?

People confuse non-functional games and difficult games.

Ghost 'n Goblins isn't a bad game despite being unforgiving.

It's weird how people are willing to claim a functional yet average game is bad while one that is not properly functional while being experimental is good when objectively it's the other way around.

If we think of Sega hardware there are worse games than Ecco and for first party games... well Ecco wasn't first party.

Alf for the Master System is certainly....well, something
My personal least favorites are (for the Genesis at least): Pac-Man 2- The New Adventures, Tom & Jerry Frantic Antics, Justice League Task Force, and Terminator 2 (NOT the arcade game)

Ooze, a game made by Sega, a very good idea implemented in the worst possible way, horrendous music, frustrating level design, poor combat system, although the UI is good
I could honestly never figure out what the hell to do in that game. Great concept though!

The WHOLE Nights series. All the games blow. Great, flying through rings, I loved it so much in Superman 64 lets do it again (yes i know Nights came out before Superman). And with a Christmas theme to boot YAY!!!
I actually had a couple of issues of the Archie comics adaptation and felt like it was super fun, sort of like Gaiman's The Sandman interspersed with concepts from the game itself. I'm still mad that the PC port that was on Steam was so terribly out of date. No controller support and screen resizing was non-existent

I do find the game very charming though, but feel like Pandemonium 1 and 2 on the PS1 (and for PCs via GOG) implement the gameplay a bit better

The first Night Into Dreams game is actually good, people tends to confuse it with the PS2 sequel that sucks

It's definitely got to be one of the Sega Technical Institute games. My vote is The Ooze.

Unfortunately Sega has made way worse games than that.

The Ooze was an experimental game, it is bad but not terrible.

Ar least it is interesting to play for about ten minutes.

Virtua Fighter on the Genesis. It's poop and pee mixed together. I don't know why Sega loves to put it in their collections.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure, try playing a traditional Monkey Ball game but as a 3D platformer adventure with no jumping and plays slippery, very awful.
Shame because a more open ended Monkey Ball game would've been a nice change of pace but this couldn't do it.

Yep would at been interesting but didn't work out, even the classic Monkey Ball stage levels are poorly designed and the slippery physics makes it worse to navagate.

It's tough to say, despite liking Sega overall. If we're talking Sega-published, it probably boils down to something like a Cyber Shinobi or X-Perts. Maybe Panzer Dragoon Mini. I can't go with the anti-Phantasy Star III sentiment, purely on the basis that Wren's transformation scene and music is just too good.

can't find a video of the little animation but the music is nice

For me ? Sonic R ! The controls are stiff and unresponsive, which makes the characters really hard to handle, and on top of that they slide around like a bar of soap, especially in tight turns. The camera constantly works against you, making the gameplay even more frustrating. Sure, the soundtrack is iconic, but in my opinion it feels a bit out of place for a Sonic game , and great music alone can’t save a title with such clunky and poorly thought-out gameplay. In the end, Sonic R is remembered more for its cheesy songs than for any real fun it delivers.

try holding the accelerate button and steering them left and right like cars. That's what they were originally meant to be anyway.

It still feels weird to control Sonic characters like cars though.
Yeah it kinda does. Yet it's much more bearable when you're doing that + using the triggers for turning than pushing up.
