06, Shadow, and Rise of Lyric make that game look like a masterpiece in comparison.

I quite like the 8bit Streets of Rage games though.

yea Golden Axe n Altered Beast are choppy n unresponsive

SoR 1 & 2 for SMS/GG are a lot more fluid n have Yuzo on sdtrk with a few exclusive songs (neat n Yuzo's my hero but my fav SMS Golvellius game utilizes the SMS soundchip sines much more effectively - none or few can touch Yuzo on GenMD, however)

Double Dragon had charm despite the mindless flickerfest that it ended up but the NES vers, although 1-player only, had more depth n polish - I'll have to tip meh cap there to the comp even then when I wanted to brag the SMS one had 2-player simuLtaneous

...and the Bug games were OK but that was mostly a joke. Clockwork Knight duology n Astal were some of the best 2D platforming Saturn had to offer

...and I happen to have the 2-disc Mr. Bones. it's different at least. certainly not a 'worst games' candidate though I M O

The game was specifically made extra hard to avoid kids renting the game and beating it in a weekend, the Japanese version I think is easier?

And there is Ecco Jr that's way easier but... a tad boring.

sega didnt really do that well with eternal champions in my book they are apparently reviving it.
