What is that game that you wanted to play with all your soul and on the day of its launch it disappointed you so much that it changed your way of seei

I was going say Diablo 3, but that's already been covered. Game sucks, man.

My second greatest gaming disappointment that made me re-evaluate things was MGS5. I was so goddamn hyped for it pre-release. I was eating up then rewatching every trailer. I played the hell out of Ground Zeroes. Finally, I thought, the game where we finally see Big Boss become the villain we saw later on in the timeline. The main trailer ended with a shot of him finding a crate full of child soldiers, then seemingly gunning them down. "I'm already a demon, Kaz." What strange, goofy, horribly awkward but exciting and entertaining Kojima things will happen?

Yeah, I would say I actually despise MGS5. It was pretentious even for Kojima, the twist is just so fucking stupid; I'd say more on that but I'm not going to spoil it. It was just awful, other than the actual shooting gameplay. But on every other level, I was horribly disappointed. It made me rethink ever getting that hype for a game release again, which is probably a good lesson in general but MGS5 did it through something negative.

Cyberpunk 2077...

I sent the game back, sold my Xbox console and decided to play only retro games until I die.
I didn't really get into the hype for Cyberpunk. I was practically given a PS4 copy when it came out because of how disastrous the launch was, and nowadays that same PS4 copy got me a free upgrade to the mostly polished PS5 version.

I'd definitely have been pissed though if it was something I was really looking forward to.

*edit*
Though now that I think about it; I sort of saw it becoming a trainwreck before the game even came out. If you want to talk about games which hurt to play versus my high expectations...Probably Pokemon Scarlet? That game has it's qualities...but as far as mainline pokemon games it's the lowest point imo? I was admittedly kinda amazed how much they crapped the bed on that one.. To the point that it made me look at games like Pal World as more favorable alternatives and tbh lead to me becoming a bigger Digimon & Monster Rancher fan since just because of feeling quite "over this" with Pokemon outside of maybe the TCG (and even then?....)

The first one that came to my mind is Mortal Kombat, as a kid I wanted to play it on the arcade so I pester my old man for some coins to play and it sucks (well I sucks not the game fault) it was so expensive and it was on hard mode so I lost in the second fight. For the money I spend on this arcade I can play three to five time others games.

Now days I think I don't like RDR2, I have to wipe a lot of games to install this and man I can't connect with this game, it feels like GTA single player and I don't like play GTA without my brothers.

Final fantasy XV , I had 0 expectations for this one and when a friend buy it I play like five or so hours and I want a refund for the life time this thing take for me, it's just bad, there is nothing.

Octopath Travelers, grinding mess, and the fights are good the first time you experience them but when you have to farm the obligatory exp to survive the next game section you will be hate them. This game have the music, the graphics, the stories but the gameplay come straight from the 90s, with all the problems.

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate by diehard fans, but... Monster Hunter Wilds, is my latest disappointment.

Firstly first, my main issue is not the game getting streamlined/easier, as a Greatsword, Gunlance, and Bow main, but some of the mechanic and the foundation is just not good enough, nor is it the performance issue as I played on PS5.

1) Decoration Farming─ this is honestly the biggest issue for me personally, I hate Worlds randomness plus the multi-effect that miserable to farm, and they brought back the worst aspect of it. It reaches a point where I'd rather optimize Qurious, since at least Qurious are a bonus on already strong set, and Decoration can be crafted.
2) Decoration Gemming─ the second biggest aspect that I hate, you can't minmax and put Deco anywhere. Some gems must be slotted on weapon, and other are in armor.
3) No Elder Dragon (pedantic/nitpick, but I am that kind of person)─ Lore-wise make sense if I remember correctly, but the lack of Elder Dragon such as Kushala Daora/Kirin (alongside Ray Deu for storm battle), or Chameleos in the jungle, just doesn't feel right to me. No idea if they added ED now. If they ever going to add ED, the most likely first would be Shagaru Magala (mature version of Gore Magala).

The one thing I love about Wilds is just the fact Gunlance actually top-tier, since it's no longer fixed damage on shelling. But goddammit, I miss my Blast Dash, and Bullet Barrage.

Genuinely have more fun playing Rise Sunbreak despite it's more Naruto and over-the-top style than Wilds, and I even started my own private server of Frontier Z.

Cyberpunk was... uh, yeah it was absolutely jank on launch. It's one of the few games I bought at launch, and not because of fear of missing out or the like. I genuinely liked the anime, and I like cyberpunk type stuff, like Blade Runner and what have you.

It looked good. And well, driving through the roads was always a fun surprise. I honestly think I played it enough to beat it, and I haven't touched it since. I don't know if it's better now, and I don't care to find out. I might re-download it someday and put a fake Steam API in it and play it. Honestly, I probably will never touch it again.

I wanted to role-play Cyberpunk like it was Ghost in the Shell, but the world didn't feel "classy" enough for me to be the Major :loldog I only played Cyberpunk a year or so ago and it was definitely better than at launch. Not completely bug free or anything, but I at least don't regret getting it for free and holding onto it::cirnoshrug I won't blame anyone for not looking past any of its issues though

I’d still wanna hear your thoughts. I imagine you had 8 times the frustration, and 8 times the amount of perspective.
