What Games Did You Beat in 2024?

I only beat around 10 games in 2024 but I did play a lot of retro games & beat many again for retroachievements. For the new games:

Darksiders - warmaster edition
Huntdown
FF7 Rebirth
Samurai Maiden
Stellar Blade
Astro Bot
Pocky and rocky reshrined
Hi-Fi rush
Bayonetta 3

Including retro games I finished for the 1st time, there were:

Bulk Slash
Klonoa - Door to Phantomile
Trouble Shooter
Steam Hearts
Strider 2

Isn't there a similar forum already made on here?
Probably, nut I wasn't sure whether to necro an old thread, and there's been a tonne of new Users join in the last month or two from what I gather (including myself), so I thought hey why not start a fresh one.

Congrats! I really enjoyed Darksiders, and what I played of Darksiders 2. Does Hi Fi Rush live up the hype? I've heard nothing but rave reviews about it

Not too many games, I hop around a lot, and I only count games I've beaten for the first time.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 1/28/24 - Better than expected, although the endgame and DLC are woefully insubstantial
Vampire Survivors sometime around then - Great, and goofy
Silent Hill: The Short Message 2/1/24 - Short free game/demo/thing, not very good IMO
Ghost of Tsushima 2/27/24 - Excellent, haven't finished the Iki Island expansion stuff yet
Battle Circuit 3/2/24 - Short arcade game, pretty fun
Crow Country 6/30/24 - So much fun, probably my game of the year. Wish it was a bit more substantial
Astro's Playroom 7/9/24 - Very fun, especially for a free pack-in game
FF7 Rebirth 7/21/24 - Ehh....complicated feelings about it, there's lots to love and also hate
River City Girls 8/30/24 - Pretty fun, although would have been less fun if I wasn't playing co-op
Ender Lilies 8/31/24 - Very good, satisfying sense of exploration
Alwa's Awakening 9/21/24 - Very fun 8-bit-styled puzzle platformer/Metroidvania
Tunic 10/5/24 - Great, although occasionally frustrating
MediEvil (PS4) 11/5/24 - A solid if unremarkable remake of a favorite game
Iron Crypticle 11/20/24 - A fun take on a Smash TV-esque shooter

Honestly, I thought Hi-Fi rush was just OK. Not worth the rave reviews and word of mouth but worth a playthrough. The rhythm element is cool but also brutally unfair in later parts, to the point where battles with larger grunt enemies are a bigger threat than bosses.

New:
Vampire Survivors
Streets of Rage 4
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Parasite Eve 2
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X
Soulcalibur
Shadow Hearts 1-2

Replay:
Silent Hill 1-3
Resident Evil 1-3
Parasite Eve
Zone of the Enders
Onimusha 1-3
Suikoden 1-3, 5
Chrono Cross

Vampire Survivors would have to be my #1. It sunk it's claws deep into me and I ended up buying like 15 other Garlic-Likes to try and fill the void, but they did not. Boneraiser Minions, 20 Minutes Till Dawn and Death Must Die were the standouts though, all great games.

The Shadow Hearts games were highlights too. Glad I finally gave them a shot, just need to beat Koudelka and From the New World eventually.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake was a mixed bag. It absolutely did not need to be made, but it wasn't dreadful. I'd give it a 6-6.5/10 or so.

Overall, lots of good stuff. Just need to get in a better place mentally and continue to chip away at games this year. x)

I can't remember all the games I beat last year, but the most notable ones to me were DmC: Devil May Cry, Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance and all of the Legacy of Kain games (excluding Blood Omen 2, as I dropped it about 3/4 of the way through). All these games I enjoyed very much. Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance definitely one of my favourites ever.

I don't play that much anymore actually, so here it goes :

- Bakeru (Jap + Western release)
- Visions of Mana
- Astro Bot
- DBZ Sparking Zero
- Rolan's Curse

I don't remember if I did Tokyo Xanadu in 2023 or 2024 but I fell in love with that game and will play the western release eventually.

So far in 2025 I beat Victory Heat Rally which is one hell of a banger of game, it's actually more fun than Mario Kart if you ask me.

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire
... yeah I seriously haven't bothered to play those until October 2024
I actually played Emerald in 2011 ... replayed that in August 2023

Disgaea 4 also ...
Sure took awhile though

Ones I remember are:

Final Fantasy 13 (Xbox360)
Princess Peach Showtime (Switch)
Unicorn Overlord (Switch)
Okami (Switch)

Oh, good thing I made a media thread last year.

-Super Robot Wars UX
-Neo: The World Ends with You
-Unicorn Overlord
-Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker (This one is my bf's fault because we played it at an arcade when he came to visit)
-Super Mario RPG (the remake)
-Princess Peach Showtime
-Namco X Capcom
-Gundam Breaker 4
-Super Robot Wars BX
How's Unicorn Overlord? Heard this name thrown about a few times

It's really fun and addictive. I've seen the gameplay be compared to Tactics Ogre and it might seem complex at first, but it's one of those games where it becomes easier the more you play.

The story is a bit simple, but it's honestly the gameplay and character writing that really endeared it to me.

i beat a bunch, since i picked up an Xbox Series S in January, meaning i blasted through a bunch of stuff on game pass real quick, but off the top of my head:
- Most of the Yakuza games, including both Judgements, from Kiwami to Gaiden. Haven't played 8 yet
- The Tomb Raider Reboot Trilogy
- All 4 Seasons of Telltale's Walking Dead
- All of Pokemon White 2
- a Binding of Isaac Dead God Save File
- too much Balatro
- Persona 5 after my friend pestered me to play it for 7 years
- the entire Pikmin series for the 8th time
- Kirby Forgotten Land
- finally beating Wind Waker

Finally finished Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight just last year. Enjoyed them both, which surprised me. It might have helped that I played Knight on PS4, whereas a lot of the trouble I heard about that game applied to the PC version.
