Right now I am making a Halo fan project, a space shooter where the protagonist are the Covenant.

Working on a Yume Nikki fangame, and simultaneously I'm conceptualizing a game I'll work on afterwards that'll be an original concept, but more to come, I love fiddling around with game developmentRight now I am making a Halo fan project, a space shooter where the protagonist are the Covenant.

Believe in your idea! I often think like that too but it shouldn't stop you.I should make something. I push the idea around in my head every so often, but I guess I'm worried that nobody would want to play it. I feel like the indie game market is very oversaturated today and discoverability has become a major problem as tons of new games are added to Steam every single day. It's like, unless you have a very novel idea than probably nobody will play it. Hell, you might even have a fantastic idea but maybe nobody plays it because they don't know it exists; it's almost like advertising is more important than the game itself. Even free games are often ignored.
But I do love the idea. I've been pushing around an idea in my head which I haven't seen in any other games, so it would be cool to make it even just to explore that concept. I don't want to talk about it too much in case I end up doing it after all, but basically a game in a certain style that uses mixed media to create a very specific visual style that I haven't seen anyone else do yet.
one thing that helps a lot is to get your game into indiecade. (and go, if you can)...I should make something. Just my advice, but don't choose to not make something just because you think (or maybe know) it won't be popular. Enjoy it for the fun, creative exercise that it is, and for all you know you may inspire some random person years later.I should make something. yeah, absolutely! I think making video games is probably the highest form of art (or at least potentially). So if nothing else just make something for the sake of making art.Just my advice, but don't choose to not make something just because you think (or maybe know) it won't be popular. There's plenty of examples of games that didn't sell well but had some influence on someone who then went on to do something big because of it.
Also, if your game is fun but no one plays it, well it sucks to be them then.
