I think during ancient time, there where allot of stories about people achieving this, even when i was studying African studies, the ideas of Voodoo (not the conflated voodoo which is actually hoodoo (not magic) in the usa) would come up.

The story of Shango is one example, and man who became a god, and lost his family due to the choices he made.

Marvel bastardized allot of it, but there are some who still speak of people who ascended to become more then human.

What i mean, for the time, this kind of thought was about, where as today, most seem to not be willing to transcend beyond our stations for the most part. My wonder is why?
